Saturday, August 14th: Pedro Palacio Isn't Going Down Without A Fight, Cracks Top Ten On Leaderboard With Friday Night Tournament Win!

ICYMI: Friday's $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) offered players another chance to not only record an Isle Casino Pompano Park tournament score, but grab those ever-valuable leaderboard points as well.  While the tournament field was smaller than we've seen in weeks past (107 entries), the prize pool was still super healthy, due to the increased buy-in for the event.  A total of $13,054 was up for grabs, scheduled to be spread across the final (14) players in the tournament.  Once the money bubble burst, action continued until four-handed play, at which point a deal was struck between the remaining players.  Pedro Palacio returned to a familiar place, as he topped the chop, taking home $2,471 for first place (along with 20.25 leaderboard points).  The official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Pedro Palacio (Coconut Creek, FL) $2,471
  2. Rodney Moret (Boca Raton, FL) $2,287
  3. Matthew Vitale (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,984
  4. Michael Bailine (Davie, FL) $1,984
  5. Karin Powsner (Pompano Beach, FL) $731
  6. Sharon Pickard (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $600
  7. Bobby Leff (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $509
  8. Alexander Patino (Southwest Ranches, FL) $444
  9. Roberto Desogos (Oakland Park, FL) $392
  10. Eduardo Rodriguez (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $346
  11. German Zaga (Tamarac, FL) $346
  12. Jeffrey Bennett (Pompano Beach, FL) $346
  13. James Tomblin (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $307
  14. Thomas Mucci (Boca Raton, FL)
Irwin Block still holds a significant lead on the Player of the Month leaderboard, but as we reach the halfway point of August, there is still a lot of time (and action) to determine the eventual $10,000 WSOP Main Event winner!

Tournaments: Saturday's 6:00pm tournament is one of the most popular on the schedule, as it offers an incredibly affordable buy-in, that always sees some great returns.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) event has consistently crushing the posted guarantee, as the prize pool reaches five-figures on a weekly basis.

The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 12,000 chips, and levels that last (20) minutes throughout the event.  Registration is open through Level 8, allowing for almost three hours of play, prior to the window closing for the night.

Promotions: From 10:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.
