Saturday, April 30th: For Those Looking To Make Tournament Leaderboard Moves...It's The Last Chance To Dance (For The Month Of April)

ICYMI: With the cancellation of last night's tournament, this evening will host the final tournament of the month, and offers one last opportunity for players to climb the leaderboard.

Tournaments: Saturday's 6:00pm tournament is one of the most popular on the schedule, as it offers an incredibly affordable buy-in, that always sees some great returns.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) event has consistently crushing the posted guarantee, as the prize pool reaches five-figures on a weekly basis.

The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 12,000 chips, and levels that last (20) minutes throughout the event. Registration is open through Level 8, allowing for almost three hours of play, prior to the window closing for the night.

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

6:00pm: $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Levels will last (20) minutes

ICYMI: Thursday's schedule saw the $180 No Limit Hold'em "Double Green Chip Bounty" ($5,000 GTD) for the final table (at least for the foreseen future), as May's schedule sees a new event in that date/time slot.  The final "Double Green Chip Bounty" attracted a total of (30) entries, and had an official prize pool of $3,500 ($1,500 bounty pool).  Four players were scheduled to reach the money, and after two in-the-money eliminations, a heads-up deal was agreed to, between Antonio De Araujo and Jonathan Jimenez.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Antonio De Araujo (Deerfield Beach, FL) $1,320
  2. Jonathan Jimenez (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,200
  3. Daniel Bueno (Sunrise, FL) $595
  4. Darryl Wettlaufer (Mississauga, ON) $385

Tournaments: Due to technological issues, tonight's $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) tournament has been cancelled.  That means that tomorrow's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) will be the player's final chance to make a move on the leaderboard.

Tournaments: At 5:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle.  This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2).  To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.

The event will be structured with 25,000 chip starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  The new format-wrinkle comes into play when discussing payouts, as the tournament will pay out just the final table, regardless of how many entries.  Exact payout percentages are as follows (final tables are now nine-handed):
  1. 40%
  2. 18%
  3. 10%
  4. 7%
  5. 7%

minutes.

ICYMI: As mentioned yesterday, we've seen the tournament attendance run in ebbs and flows as of recent, with no clear explanation of why.  After a Monday night tournament that crushed the guarantee, Tuesday saw a more intimate crowd.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) attracted a total of (40) entries, which equated to a prize pool that landed directly on the posted number.  A total of five players were scheduled to reach the money, with the evening's action concluding in a four-way chop.   Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

  3. 10%
  4. 7%

Tournaments: At 3:00pm, the cards get in the air for our $400 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD), an event that is sure to attract some South Florida's best tournament players.  The event's structure will see players sitting down to starting stacks of 20,000, and playing (25) minute levels.  Registration is open through Level 8, and the short break that follows.

With the way tournaments have been at the Isle Casino Pompano Park, it should come as not surprise, if this event surpasses all expectations.  Those looking to get updates on numbers, can follow the action on the Bravo Poker Live app.  All results from this afternoon's action will be recapped tomorrow on the blog.
