Steven Legault (Naples, FL) gained Isle Poker Blog "fame" during the 2018 Florida State Poker Championships, and is looking to recapture that magic over the next few days.

As the blinds increase, we are beginning to see players exit the field at a steadier pace, with Oscar Valdes the most recent departure.  Valdes was all-in for just under 15,500, and got called by Steven Legault (Naples, FL), who had a very similar sized stack.  When the cards were tabled, Valdes held the lead, with 7♠ 7♣ against Legault's A5.  The flop 2 3♠ 4♣ flop changed everything, as Legault flopped the wheel, leaving Oscar drawing to running full house outs to win.  The sweat was alive on the turn, as the board paired with the 3, but Valdes would brick the river.

The stacks were counted down by the dealer, and Oscar was informed he was covered, as he wished the rest of the table good luck.  Legault is now back above the starting stack, sitting with 32,000.  Steven's name may sound familiar to followers of the blog, having taken second place in Event #1 of the 2018 Florida State Poker Championships ($175 No Limit Hold'em).  Legault earned $18,453 as part of a four-way deal that ended the event, which still stands as his largest career cash, and makes up more than half of his lifetime earnings ($32,527).

Steven Legault - 32,000 (40bb)

Players are back from their second break of the day, now posting new blinds of 300/600/600 (in Level 7).  The top of the leaderboard has seen a lot of shifting over the last level, with Ido Ashkenazi making his way back to the top.  Updated chip counts from the field are posted below:

Ido Ashkenazi - 120,000 (200bb)
Ofer Peleg - 118,000 (196bb)

Isle Poker Classic Event #7 (Day 1A): Lind's Pocket Aces Send Gambino To The Cage

2018 Isle Poker Classic (Event #7)
$1,100 No Limit Hold'em Main Event
$200,000 GTD
Level 6 (Blinds 300/500/500)
Total Day 1A Entries: 49

The time away from the table hasn't hurt Staffan Lind's reading ability, as he was able to the pieces together, and make a good call against AJ Gambino.

Table 5 was approached during a hand between Staffan Lind and AJ Gambino, with the two players on the turn (of a board that read 2 3♠ 6♠ 4♣).  With 20,000 already in the pot, Gambino checked to Lind, who put out a bet of 7,500.  Following about a forty-second pause, AJ gathered his remaining stack, and check-shoved (for about 28,000).  Lind was clearly displeased with the spot, and went into the tank, eventually making the call.

Gambino rolled over 10♠ 10♣, but was well behind the A♠ A♣ of Lind, as the board completed with the 4.  Lind collected the sizable pot, while AJ collected his things, and headed to the cage to re-enter.

Staffan Lind - 105,000 (210bb)

Isle Poker Classic Event #7 (Day 1A): Dylan Malcomson Pacing The Day 1A Field, First To Eclipse The Century Mark

Level 5 (Blinds 200/400/400)
Total Day 1A Entries: 43

Not much is known about Dylan Malcomson's (Smithtown, NY) tournament history, as his Hendon Mob resume just got it's start a few weeks ago.

During a fifteen minute period of Level 5, Dylan Malcomson (Smithtown, NY) showed down winner after winner, and became the first player to eclipse the 100,000 mark.  While Dylan's name has been mentioned on the blog over the past few months, he is still searching for his first recorded Isle Poker tournament cash.  His Hendon Mob resume shows two results, both coming during the most recent Rock N' Roll Poker Open.  His lifetime tournament earnings are listed at $3,404, which could be eclipsed with just more than a min-cash in this event.  Without a true and tested resume to gauge, Malcomson sits as a relative "wild card" atop the leaderboard.  His stack of 120,000 is in first by a healthy margin, as former chip leader Ido Ashkenazi has trended downward since last updated.

Dylan Malcomson - 120,000 (300bb)

Isle Poker Classic Event #7 (Day 1A): Oscar Valdes No Longer On The Rail, Focused On His Own Deep Main Event Run

2018 Isle Poker Classic (Event #7)
$1,100 No Limit Hold'em Main Event
$200,000 GTD
Level 3 (Blinds 100/200/200)
Total Day 1A Entries: 33

Oscar Valdes (Miami, FL) spent most of Monday afternoon on the rail, keeping a close eye on his wife's progress in Event #1 ($200 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" $100,000 GTD).

Earlier this week (Monday afternoon into evening), Oscar Valdes (Miami, FL) was very much focused on Day 2 of Event #1 ($200 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" $100,000 GTD), and the progress of his wife.  Maritzas Cuartas (Miami, FL) came into the day in the middle of the pack, but quickly shot up the leaderboard.  She ended up making a solid run in the tournament, eventually bowing out in 26th place, earning herself $915.

Oscar was there every step of the way for his wife, present in the poker room throughout the entire run, offering advice and insight.  Valdes is now looking to flip the script, as he begins his trek towards finding himself a Day 2 bag for this main event.  Oscar has just over $23,000 in lifetime tournament earnings, headlined by a fourth place finish in Event #1 of the 2015 Battles At The Beach ($175 No Limit Hold'em Deepstack $150,000 GTD).  The event ended in a final table chop (ten-ways), with Valdes earning $13,185 for the result.

We haven't confirmed whether Maritza will be in attendance over the next few days...but for now, Valdes is looking to hold it down for the pair.  Some other notables in the Day 1A field include:

Joshua Hillock
Kenneth Bruno
Frederico Tabus
Cory Williams
Thomas Gari
Steven Rosen
Julian Wohlgemuth
Ofer Peleg
