Wednesday, December 12th: Jeff Trudeau Wins Isle Poker Classic Main Event, Returning To The Recurring Schedule

ICYMI: Before we returned to the recurring tournament schedule, there was a little unfinished business to settle yesterday afternoon.  At 12:00pm, the three remaining players from the Isle Poker Classic Main Event resumed play, with Day 3 lasting less than twenty minutes.  On the second hand of Day 3 play, Jeff Trudeau eliminated Hunter Cichy (Coon Rapids, MI) in third place, with just Elliot Zaydman standing between Trudeau and a title.  With an almost seven-to-one chip deficit, the heads-up battle was going to be an uphill climb for Zaydman.  He managed to double-up a few hands in, and looked poised to creep even closer...until Trudeau found a fortunate river (turning trips against Zaydman's top pair) to ship the title.  Official results from Day 3 are listed below:
  1. Jeff Trudeau (Orlando, FL) $55,416
  2. Elliot Zaydman (Glenrock, NJ) $38,941
  3. Hunter Cichy (Coon Rapids, MI) $24,510
Tuesday's recurring schedule was all about "mixed-games," with the 11:00am time slot hosting a $150 Limit Omaha 8B Hi/Lo ($3,000 GTD) event.  Registration for the tournament would close with (22) entries, and an official prize pool of $3,000.  Three players were scheduled to reach the money, but a deal was agreed to (long before the money bubble), with six players getting paid.  Official results of the tournament are listed below:
  1. Peter Nathan (Pompano Beach, FL) $961
  2. Eugene Calder (Boynton Beach, FL) $851
  3. Richard Quintero (Miramar, FL) $380
  4. Gerald Hertz (Pompano Beach, FL) $310
  5. Timothy Patrus (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $305
  6. Lazaro Rodriguez (Kendall, FL) $193
The evening tournament (6:00pm) was a $100 H.O.R.S.E., which signified the first time ever, that a mixed-game event was run in the evening.  The numbers were surprisingly successful, as the field closed with (23) entries, and an official prize pool of $1,725.  Just like the afternoon tournament, three players were scheduled to get paid, but things ended with a deal (agreed to on the money bubble).  Official results of the tournament are listed below:
  1. Michael Daw (Eldred, NY) $561
  2. Gregg Weiss (Delray Beach, FL) $473
  3. Andrew Daire (Boca Raton, FL) $370
  4. Ryan Steele (Pompano Beach, FL) $321

Tournaments: Yesterday saw the return to the recurring tournament schedule, but today is the first slate of the month, that does not include an Isle Poker Classic event.  The day's action begins at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($3,000 GTD).  The event is structured with 16,000 unit starting stacks, levels that last (20) minutes, and registration that is open through Level 8. Every 1 in 10 entries will earn $1,000, which has been a very popular format with the players, as we've seen extra cash prizes the last few survivors run.

The "Survivor" is followed at 6:00pm, by an $80 No Limit Hold'em tournament. The event is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  At the end of registration, players have the option to add-on, and can decide between a single ($20) or a double ($40).

Promotions: Outside of the "standard" high hands, the poker room opens with the "new" Full House Promotion.  The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $40 prize.  Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $40.  In order to be eligible, the full  house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.

The day's "standard" high hand period will last from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
