Day 2 ($75,000 GTD): Ruszkowski Eliminated On Final Table Bubble

$130 No Limit Hold'em ($75,000 GTD)
Level 28 (Blinds 50,000/100,000/15,000)
Total Entries: 1,243
Players Remaining: 10
Chip Average: 2,300,000

After calling a raise from Dana Chowen, Raymond Ruszkowski would check-raise all-in a flop of 9 4 2, and immediately get called by Chowen.  Ruszkowski needed some help, holding 9 6 against the K K of Chowen.  The turn and river would bring no help to Raymond, and he would be eliminated in 11th place ($1,506).  The tournament supervisor is now redrawing for the final table, and we will bring you the seating and chip counts in a moment.

Day 2 ($75,000 GTD): Final Table Bubble

$130 No Limit Hold'em ($75,000 GTD)
Level 27 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 1,243
Players Remaining: 11
Chip Average: 2,000,000

We are now on the final table bubble after both Shlomo Maman and Bill Swicki were eliminated in successive hands.  After the next elimination, the field will consolidate at the final table, and we will bring you the updated seating assignments and chip counts.  We have seen many of these events end in multi-way chops, so it will be interesting to see what's discussed once the players all share the same felt.  It's rare that you'll ever find an even chop amongst a group of players, but if that was to happen right now with (11) players, they would each receive over $8,000.

Day 2 ($75,000 GTD): Updated Counts On Dinner Break

Eric Mutschler (Oakland Park, FL)

It's not unusual to see a rapid pace of eliminations once the money bubble has burst, but things will then slow down as the stacks get deep and the shorter stacks find themselves out of the field.  That hasn't occurred just yet in this event, as we are almost down to three tables.  Once we do get to that point, a full table lineup of players remaining will be posted.

The same names sit atop the leaderboard, with the addition of Eric Mutschler (Oakland Park, FL).  Mutschler was all-in and at risk just (40) minutes ago, but was fortunate enough to runout a flush against his opponents flopped set.  He is now sitting with 1,200,000, and hoping to recapture some of the magic he experienced during the Isle Poker Open.

Carlos Torres - 2,100,000
David Albertson - 2,100,000
Steve Kukowski - 1,600,000
Lou Stadler - 1,400,000

Two of the three chip leaders requested
not to be photographed
The eliminations have been happening at a rapid pace, and after collecting and posting all of the results to this point, there was a moment to survey the field for updated chip counts.

While the stacks seem deep, the current chip average is just under (22) big blinds, which isn't too comfortable of a spot.  There are a ton of shorter stacks scattered across the field, with three players really separating themselves from the field.

The overall chipleader coming into Day 2, David Albertson continues to trend upwards, scooping a pot moments ago to push him across the 1,100,000 mark.

Steve Kukowski is second in chips with 1,275,000, while Carlos Torres sits atop the counts with 1,750,000.  The two chip leaders asked for their pictures not to be taken, which is a request we will always respect.

Day 2 ($75,000 GTD): Field Is ITM (In The Money)!!!

$130 No Limit Hold'em ($75,000 GTD)
Level 18 (Blinds 5,000/10,000/1,000)
Total Entries: 1,243
Players Remaining: 89
Chip Average: 248,000

Samuel Sternfield was in a very unenvious position moments ago, as he got his remaining chips in on a flop of 7♣ Q♣ J♣.  Samuel was up against top two pair (Q♠ J), but he was holding a lot of equity with K♣ 10♠.  The turn would be exactly what Sternfield was looking for (A♣), and he would only need to fade his opponent making a full house...which is exactly what happened on the river.

The look on Samuel's face was exactly what you would think, as he just had the rug pulled out from under him on the stone bubble of this event.  His dejection would turn into relief though, as he found out that one other player busted on the same hand, allowing him then to split 90th place money.  We should see a flurry of eliminations from the short stacks over the next level or so, and the stacks become a little deeper across the field as we enter the "meat" of this event.

Day 2 ($75,000 GTD): Tables Break As Hand-For-Hand Begins Shortly

$130 No Limit Hold'em ($75,000 GTD)
Level 18 (Blinds 5,000/10,000/1,000)
Total Entries: 1,243
Players Remaining: 102
Chip Average: 220,000

Some of the outer tables are beginning to break as the field shrinks down, and we approach the money bubble.  When (92) players remain, the tournament clock will be paused, and the field will begin hand-for-hand play.  Once the bubble bursts and we have reached the money, all of the payouts will be posted with each pay jump.

Day 2 ($75,000 Guarantee): Checking Up On The Top Of The Leaderboard

$130 No Limit Hold'em ($75,000 GTD)
Level 17 (Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000)
Total Entries: 1,243
Players Remaining: 110
Chip Average: 203,000

Ariel Williams (Miami, FL)

Since returning from break, the field lost a trio of players in just (5) minutes, and is now (20) spots away from the money.  Coming into the day with 531,500, Ariel Williams was never in danger of not making the money, but she has experienced some rough going to start the day.  She's lost close to 35% of her stack since play resumed at 12:00pm, and now sits with 320,000.

Williams has a lot of tournament experience to take from though, including a recent deep run in the opening event of the Jacksonville Best Bet Bounty Scramble series.  Ariel reached the final table of the $350 No Limit Hold'em event, and earned her largest career cash of $14,790.  There must be a sense of comfort playing here at the Isle though for Williams, as the first six cashes of her career came at this property, including a recorded win at a $100,000 Guaranteed event in 2013 ($14,170).

Day 2 ($75,000 GTD): First Benchmark Looms...Reaching The Money

$130 No Limit Hold'em ($75,000 GTD)
Level 16 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/500)
Total Entries: 1,243
Players Remaining: 113
Chip Average: 198,000

David Albertson (Coral Springs, FL)

Players are currently going on their first break of the day, and will return to Level 17, and new blinds of 4,000/8,000/1,000.  Flight 1D concluded their play when 8% of the field remained, which was with 22:00 minutes remaining in Level 15 (which is why we are first now entering Level 17).  We are already close to the money bubble, with (113) players currently left, and (90) of those getting paid.

David Albertson still stands on top of the counts after (40) minutes of Day 2 play.  The stack he's returned with allows for David to really call his own shots.  Albertson could have arrived at 5:00pm, and although his stack would've been blinded down, it still would be a top (20) stack at that time.  Big stack poker is not a stranger to Albertson though, so it could also be about aggression and power.  We will surely keep an eye on the top stacks throughout the day, as everyone has their eye on the $28,240 first place prize.

Day 2 ($75,000 GTD): Official Payouts

$130 No Limit Hold'em ($75,000 GTD)
Level 17 (Blinds 3,000/6,000/500)
Total Entries: 1,243
Players Remaining: 136
Chip Average: 166,000

$130 No Limit Hold'em ($75,000 GTD) Payouts

It was an unbelievable showing for this tournament, the final "big" event of the 2016 calendar year.  The tournament was a $75,000 guaranteed prize pool event, but finished with almost double that amount!!! With (90) players cashing in the tournament, the min-cash is just over 2x the buy-in, while first place is worth over $28,000.

Live tournament coverage will begin at 12:00pm, when the cards get in the air for Day 2.

Day 2 ($75,000 GTD): Day 2 Seating Assignments (Alphabetical)
