ICYMI: "Spin To Win" Money Wheel Results (April 5th)

From 12:00pm-11:00pm yesterday, the "Spin To Win" high hand promotion was running, one of the most popular poker promotions you'll find in the state (as well as one of the richest).  The player with the "winning" high hand from each half hour is awarded an opportunity to spin the "money wheel," which sits located in the "stage area" of the poker room, closest to the cashier.  There are over (70) different slots on the wheel, all with different monetary amounts.  The "major" amounts that can be won are $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, and $5,000.  If (and only if) the high hand that qualifies is a royal flush, the $5,000 "Jackpot' slice is worth $25,000.  Posted below are all of the results from yesterday's promotion (along with the game the player was playing):

12:30pm: $575 (2/5 NLH)
1:00pm: $475 (2/2 LHE)
1:30pm: $375 (1/2 NLH)
2:00pm: $575 (1/2 NLH)
2:30pm: $375 (2/4 LHE)
3:00pm: $675 (2/2 LHE)
3:30pm: $625 (2/5 NLH)
4:00pm: $2,000 (6/12 OE)
4:30pm: $250 (1/2 NLH)
5:00pm: $325 (1/2 NLH)
5:30pm: $250 (1/2 NLH)
6:00pm: $500 (6/12 OE)
6:30pm: $400 (Tournament)
7:00pm: $575 (2/4 LHE)
7:30pm: $400 (1/2 NLH)
8:00pm: $200 (1/2 NLH)
8:30pm: $575 (2/5 NLH)
9:00pm: $425 (Tournament)
9:30pm: (No High Hand)
10:00pm: $275 (6/12 OE)
10:30pm: $325 (1/2 NLH)
11:00pm: $325 (2/5 NLH)

There was $10,500 in promotional money given away over the course of the promotion yesterday, a bulk of which was won by players in the 6/12 OE.  The game is one of the more popular in the poker room, a limit rotation of Stud 8 (Hi/Lo) and Omaha 8 (Hi/Lo).  The rest of the results came from players mainly in no limit games (for the second week in a row), with only (4) wheel spinners coming from limit hold'em games.  The landscape is ever-changing in terms of who gets to spin that wheel, meaning each and every player that walks into the poker room, has a legitimate chance of making it up to the main stage (where the wheel sits).

Thursday, April 6th: One Wasn't Enough For Omar Sader, $20,000 GTD Headlines Tournament Schedule

ICYMI: Just over an hour after the 6:00pm $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($5,000 GTD) began, three players from Tuesday night's tournament returned to finish out the event ($40 No Limit Hold'em $10,000 GTD).  Michael Loprien (Davie, FL), Omar Sader (Pompano Beach, FL), and Jairo Carrillo (Pompano Beach, FL) had some unfinished business to take care of...which only took over an hour to complete.  Carrillo, who was returning with only seven big blinds, was the first to depart (earning $1,286 for his third place finish).  Even though Loprien returned as an overwhelming chip leader, Omar Sader was able to even the playing field after (20) minutes of heads-up play, and would eventually take the chip lead.  Sader won the tournament shortly thereafter, earning $3,302, while Loprien took home $1,959 for his runner-up finish.

Omar Sader then jumped into the evening tournament, joining (49) other entries, and looking to spin up the 18,000 chip starting stack.  Once registration closed, the prize pool was set at $3,750 ($1,250 bounty pool), with five spots being paid in the event.  After the money bubble burst, the remaining handful of players began discussing a deal...eventually agreeing to the numbers, and a five-way chop.  For the second time in hours, Omar Sader would be collecting first place money, adding $1,177 (plus any bounties) to the cash he received earlier in the night.  Posted below are the final results from the deal:
  1. Omar Sader (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,177
  2. Joshua Tabraue (Pembroke Pines, FL) $766
  3. Joel Goetz (Boynton Beach, FL) $738
  4. Andres Ramirez (Hollywood, FL) $636
  5. Robert Cavataio (Delray Beach, FL) $433
Tournaments: Two tournaments make up the schedule today, the second of which is making it's first appearance on the "monthly schedule."  First up, at 11:00am, is the $80 No Limit Hold'em w/ $10 Bounties ($2,000 GTD).  The tournament offers a 12,000 unit starting stack, and (20) minute levels throughout the day.

The second tournament of the day, which gets underway at 6:00pm, is a $130 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD).  Outside of the $100,000 GTD event that will run at the end of the month, this is the largest guaranteed prize pool of the April daily tournaments, and will the next two Thursdays as well.  Players will be sitting down to starting stacks of 16,000 units, and will play (20) minutes levels throughout the night.

Promotions: After an exciting day of wheel spins, Thursday offers up the Early Bird No Limit Hold'em high hand promotion, paying $60 to the first (50) full houses of the day (eligible players must be playing no limit hold'em).  The "standard high hand" promotion runs throughout the day as well, from 9:00am-12:00am.
