Monday, April 18th: Parada Slipping Down The Leaderboard, As New Names Vault To The Top

ICYMI: After a great showing for Saturday's tournament, yesterday afternoon's $400 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) followed suit.  Registration for the tournament closed with a total of (79) entries, and an official prize pool of $27,492 (which was to be paid out to the top ten spots).  There would be no deal-making, as action played down to an outright winner, with Albert Barney besting Aldring Gomez during heads-up play. Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Albert Barney (Deerfield Beach, FL) $9,346
  2. Aldring Gomez (Hollywood, FL) $5,361
  3. Daniel Miller (Pompano Beach, FL) $3,354
  4. Luis Dominguez (Miami, FL) $2,268
  5. Anthony Chuinard (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,718
  6. Oscar Arrieche (Miami, FL) $1,375
  7. Aleksandra Halving (Chicago, IL) $1,210
  8. Philip Whitaker (Miami, FL) $1,100
  9. Alexander Obed (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) 4935
  10. Ross Willner (Boca Raton, FL) $825

Tournaments: At 5:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle.  This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2).  To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.

The event will be structured with 25,000 chip starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  The new format-wrinkle comes into play when discussing payouts, as the tournament will pay out just the final table, regardless of how many entries.  Exact payout percentages are as follows (final tables are now nine-handed):
  1. 40%
  2. 18%
  3. 10%
  4. 7%
  5. 7%
  6. 6%
  7. 6%
  8. 3%
  9. 3%
Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30)
minutes.

5:00pm: $250 No Limit Hold'em "Final Table Finish" ($10,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 25,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Levels will last (20) minutes

Sunday, April 17th: Patino Eclipses Danilo Parada, After Third Place Finish In Saturday's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)

ICYMI: After a week that had a few intimately sized tournament fields, Saturday's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) saw a very strong showing.  Registration for the 6:00pm event closed with a total of (80) entries, which equated to an official prize pool of $8,000.  A total of ten players were scheduled to reach the money, with action continuing through the money bubble, and down to the point that the final table was three-handed.  The final trio agreed to a deal, with a notable player in the leaderboard race taking third place (Anderson Patino).  The 14.59 leaderboard points that Patino earned, helped him eclipse Danilo Parada in the top spot!!!  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Jay Lefka (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $2,036
  2. Tyler Gray (Bradenton, FL) $1,761
  3. Anderson Patino (Miami, FL) $1,459
  4. Gavin Banta (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $660
  5. Robert Mason (Lauderdale Lakes, FL) $500

Tournaments: At 3:00pm, the cards get in the air for our $400 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD), an event that is sure to attract some South Florida's best tournament players.  The event's structure will see players sitting down to starting stacks of 20,000, and playing (25) minute levels.  Registration is open through Level 8, and the short break that follows.

With the way tournaments have been at the Isle Casino Pompano Park, it should come as not surprise, if this event surpasses all expectations.  Those looking to get updates on numbers, can follow the action on the Bravo Poker Live app.  All results from this afternoon's action will be recapped tomorrow on the blog.
