Fresh off a two month trip to Europe, Rob Jonsson (Deerfield Beach, FL) returned to action with a very solid run, falling a few spots short of the Main Event final table. |
At Table 3, Marvin Rettrenmaier opened the action with a raise to 35,000, with Chad Eveslage and Harrison Gimbel making the call. Rob Jonsson was in the small blind, and three-bet shoved for 260,000. The big blind folded, and once action was back on Marvin, he would announce himself all-in as well (for over 500,000). Eveslage and Gimbel released their hands, and the cards found their backs:
Jonsson: 10♠ 10♦
Rettenmaier: K♣ K♦
Runout: 7♠ 5♣ 2♦ 6♥ K♠
Jonsson thought he would be racing, but went from asking the deal to "hold" his hand, to wanting to "get there." The runout brought no help to Jonsson, who would exit the field in 14th place ($5,857).
Marvin Rettenamier - 820,000
Rob Jonsson - Eliminated (14th Place - $5,857)
