ICYMI: "Spin To Win" Money Wheel Results (June 21st)

From 12:00pm-11:00pm yesterday, the "Spin To Win" high hand promotion was running, one of the most popular poker promotions you'll find in the state (as well as one of the richest).  The player with the "winning" high hand from each half hour is awarded an opportunity to spin the "money wheel," which sits located in the "stage area" of the poker room, closest to the cashier.  There are over (70) different slots on the wheel, all with different monetary amounts.  The "major" amounts that can be won are $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, and $5,000.  If (and only if) the high hand that qualifies is a royal flush, the $5,000 "Jackpot" slice is worth $25,000.  Posted below are all of the results from yesterday's promotion (along with the game the player was playing):

12:30pm: $300 (1/2 NLH)
1:00pm: $375 (2/5 NLH)
1:30pm: $400 (1/2 NLH)
2:00pm: $200 (2/5 NLH)
2:30pm: $550 (1/2 NLH)

5:00pm: $425 (2/4 LHE)
5:30pm: $275 (1/2 NLH)
6:00pm: $750 (1/2 NLH)

10:00pm: $225 (MTT)
10:30pm: $400 (2/5 NLH)
11:00pm: $450 (1/2 NLH)

Over the course of the eleven hour promotion, a total of $11,400 was awarded to players who spun the wheel.  The players to spin the wheel came from a wide array of cash games, as well as four spins from players in tournaments.  There was one "jackpot" hit yesterday, with a $3,000 winner from one of the smaller limit hold'em games that run so often during the afternoons.

Thursday, June 22nd: Collins And Corbett Head Tournament Chops, $20,000 GTD Sure To Attract Once Again

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament action started at 11:00am with the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack," an event that carries with it a $3,000 guaranteed prize pool.  A total of (33) entries made up that $3,000 pool, with a total of five spots scheduled to get paid.  A min-cash in the tournament would earn $240, with the posted first place prize $1,230.  The word "scheduled" is used because of the frequency of chops in these daily tournaments, with Wednesday's afternoon event following suit.  The players made a deal once the money was reached, with Brad Collins (Greenacres, FL) taking home $704 for first place.

  1. Brad Collins (Greenacres, FL) $704
  2. Stanton Drazen (Boynton Beach, FL) $677
  3. Michael Dotson (Jupiter, FL) $618
  4. Brian Haines (Southwest Ranches, FL) $583
  5. David Billa (Plantation, FL) $418
Last night's tournament, which got underway at 6:00pm, was the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($10,000 GTD).  Once registration closed, there were (155) entries in the event, with an official prize pool of $10,000.  Of those in the field when Level 9 began (about 80 players), only twenty of them would be walking away with a recorded cash from the event.  Robert Peoples (Coral Springs, FL) was the first player to head to the payout podium (for the $140 min-cash), and would be followed by the likes of Edgard Mendes (18th place), Michael Gutterman (16th place), and Dale Berman (11th place).  The final table was reached just before midnight, and after two eliminations, players would agree to an eight-way deal.
  1. Michael Corbett (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,436
  2. Domenico Barilla (Deerfield Beach, FL) $1,207
  3. Robert Rotterman (Deerfield Beach, FL) $1,198
  4. Richard Velasco (North Miami, FL) $970
  5. Peter Feld (Hollywood, FL) $843
  6. Jeffrey Herman (Pembroke Pines, FL) $755
  7. Luis Guarda (Coral Springs, FL) $612
  8. Brett Hamburger (Delray Beach, FL) $603
Tournaments: Two tournaments make up the "daily" schedule today, with the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD) getting underway at 11:00am.  The day's headliner comes at 6:00pm though, when the cards get in the air for the $130 No Limit Hold'em ($10,000 GTD).

Promotions: The "Limit Hold'em Early Bird" promotion has been a staple on Thursday's, giving the room a little "break" from the high hand madness that is the "Spin To Win" promotion.  This afternoon sees an addition to the promotional calendar, with "Turbo High Hands" awarded from 12:00pm-4:00pm, and then 7:00pm-11:00pm. High hands will be awarded every (15) minutes, with those qualifying winners taking home $300 (rollovers apply).
