Friday, December 14th: Weekend Starts With A "New" "Survivor, And Lots Of Great Poker Action

ICYMI: Thursday's tournament schedule began at 11:00am, with a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack."  The "intimate" field saw registration close with (9) entries, and an official prize pool of $873.  Only one spot was schedule to get paid, but players agreed to a three-way deal before the money was reached.  Brandon Shulman (Boynton Beach, FL) took home first place money in the chop ($377), with official results from the tournament listed below:
  1. Brandon Shulman (Boynton Beach, FL) $377
  2. Reed Alenik (Roseville, CA) $268
  3. Stanley Sternberg (Highland Beach, FL) $228
The evening tournament (6:00pm) was a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Bounty" event, which like it's afternoon counterpart, ran without a posted guarantee.  Registration for the event would close with (28) entries, and an official prize pool of $2,156.  Four spots were scheduled to get paid in the tournament, and once the money bubble burst, a deal was agreed to.  Luis Guarda (Coral Springs, FL) took home first place money in the deal, with the event's official results posted below:

  2. Vincent Green (Boynton Beach, FL) $560

Tournaments: With the recent popularity of the "survivor" format tournaments, a new installment has been added to the recurring schedule for December.  Friday's tournament action kicks off at 11:00am, with a $75 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($1,000 GTD), which will see every 1 in 10 entries earn a $500 pay spot.  The tournament is structured with 14,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  This event should be very popular with players, considering the small investment...and large return.

The evening tournament (6:00pm) is an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which carries a $3,000 guarantee.  The tournament is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  At the end of registration, players have the option to add-on, choosing between a single ($20) or double ($40).

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-9:00am (Friday into Saturday), the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
