Friday, May 19th: "Thursday $10k" Crushes The Number, $20,000 GTD Headlines Schedule

ICYMI: In the first of two tournaments yesterday, the $80 No Limit Hold'em w/ $10 Bounty ($1,500 GTD) attracted an "intimate" field of (18) players.  The official prize pool closed at $1,320 ($180 bounty pool), with three spots getting paid.  There would be no deal made, or bubble paid in the tournament, with Miguel Marrero (Cooper City, FL) taking home first place honors.

  1. Mugeul Marrero (Cooper City, FL) $600
  2. Oren Rosenthal (Miami, FL) $456
  3. George Tardugno (Weston, FL) $264
The second tournament of the day ($40 No Limit Hold'em $10,000 GTD) was the highlight of the day, as a total of (358) entries made up the $12,086 prize pool.  A min-cash in the event would see a return of $62, while first place would be scheduled to take home $2,553.  The field was made up with many of the names we saw in attendance during last week's "May $100,000 GTD," including Ian Bishop, Donald Gordon, Juan Rodriguez, Barry Chazen, and Vasila Schita.  The final table was reached just before midnight, and after a handful of eliminations, the remaining five players agreed to a deal (along with the players to chop, the full final table results are posted below):
  1. Scott Jaffa (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,705
  2. John Ambrosi (Viera, FL) $1,479
  3. Peter Bejusca (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,413
  4. Jean Chery (West Palm Beach, FL) $1,258
  5. Chantal Tremblay (Montreal, Quebec) $959
  6. Max Martin (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $477
  7. Greysi Panchame (Pompano Beach, FL) $400
  8. Angelo Ingham (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $327
  9. Michael Gutterman (Delray Beach, FL) $255
  10. Craig Witz (Hypoluxo, FL) $215
Tournaments: As per usual, there is only one tournament on the schedule for Friday, but tonight's event is a "special" one.  The $150 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament has with it a $20,000 guarantee, and offers a "deeper" structure.  Players sit down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, and will be playing (25) minute levels over the course of the night.  The poker room is open (24) hours on Friday and Saturday, meaning players will not find themselves "against the clock," and can choose to play out the entire event if wanted.

Promotions: Things start off "quickly" this afternoon, with the "Turbo High Hands" running from 9:00am-12:00pm.  During that window, $100 will be awarded every (10) minutes to the qualifying high hand (rollovers do apply).  The promotion will then transition to $250 every (20) minutes (rollovers do apply), from 12:00pm-4:00pm...laddering up one more time to $500 every (20) minutes (rollovers apply), from 4:00pm-12:00am.

- Players will begin with a 20,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
