The three players to chop the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD), with Fred Dabus and Jason Prest standing behind John Magnetta.

  2. Frederico Dabus (Doral, FL) $12,220
  3. Jason Prest (Boca Raton, FL) $9,665

Richard Leger (Lighthouse Point, FL) took his bad beat in stride, wishing his opponents good luck as he walked away from the final table.

Getting it in good hasn't been a good thing at this final table, as Richard Leger (Lighthouse Point, FL) learned just moments ago.  Leger was all-in with A Q against Jason Prest's A 10, but watched as the board would run out 9♠ 7♠ 6♣ J♣ 8.  Prest made a straight on the river to eliminate Leger, who collected $3,955 for his fourth place finish.

The remains three players are now discussing a potential chop, with updates coming once the conversation is completed.

$360 NLH $50,000 GTD (Day 2): Robert Altunes Eliminated In 5th Place ($3,050), As Dabus Makes Quads

Robert Antunes (Boca Raton, FL) laddered up three spots with his short stack, and ended up seeing a return of $3,050 on his $360 buy-in.

Robert Antunes (Boca Raton, FL) was the short stack at the final table, and would see his shove called by Fred Dabus.  Antunes would be racing with K♠ 10♣ against the 7 7 of Dabus, with a pretty crazy runout following.  Antunes hit the 10 2♠ 3♣ flop to take the lead, but the turn and river would bring running sevens, giving Fred quads.  Antunes departed the final table in fifth place, and almost matched his career earnings with his cash ($3,050).

$360 NLH $50,000 GTD (Day 2): Magnetta Once Again...This Time Putting A Beat On Steve Ekin, Who Busts In 6th Place ($2,530)

Steve Ekin (Vero Beach, FL) wanted to make sure that we got he PokerAcademy.com shirt in his picture, getting to plug the site to a bevy of blog followers.

After being hampered by a short stack for seemingly the entire afternoon, it looked as if Steve Ekin (Vero Beach, FL) was going to get the double he needed.  Ekin was all-in and at risk against John Magnetta, holding A♠ K♠ against John's 7 7♠.  The A K♣ Qwas surely a welcomed sight for Ekin, but the entire poker room knew what came on the turn (7), as Magnetta burst from his seat.

"All you have to do is ask for it," Magnetta exclaimed, as he reached over to collect his new chips.

$360 NLH $50,000 GTD (Day 2): Magnetta's Rush Continues, Eliminates Marc Duquette In 7th Place ($2,190)

Marc Duquette (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) tried to come back with the lucky chili from B-Express, but ended up having to finish it on the rail.

On the first hand back from break, Marc Duquette (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) would get a shove through, bringing his stack to 277,000.  The very next hand, after John Magnetta opened to 60,000, Duquette would shove again.  Action folded back around to Magnetta, who made the call after getting an exact count:

Duquette: A♠ J
Magnetta: K♣ Q♠

Runout: Q 10 2 6 9♣

Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL) had been out of the limelight for over a month, but had a nice result upon his return.

Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL) had been overseas (in India) for over a month, but found himself right back in the action upon his return.  His downswing wasn't documented, but his final hand was just a formality, as he was all-in for less than two big blinds.

$360 NLH $50,000 GTD (Day 2): Wasserman Get's It In Good, But Is Out In 9th Place ($1,685)

$360 No Limit Hold'em

Joshua Wasserman (Deerfield Beach, FL) found himself in what seemed to be great position to double, but ended up experiencing the wrong side of variance.

After action folded around to Fred Dabus in the small blind, he would complete, with Joshua Wasserman than raising to 160,000 (with 200,000 behind).  Dabus then three-bet shoved, having Joshua covered, with Wasserman making the call:

Dabus: A♣ 10♣
Wasserman: A Q

Runout: 10 2♠ 4 2♣ J♠

Fred spiked a ten to take a commanding lead, which would end up holding through the runout.  Wasserman collected $1,685 for his ninth place finish, which helps him cross the $85,000 mark in lifetime earnings.

Sal Accardi (Dix Hills, NY) couldn't ride the short stack any longer, unable to win a flip to score a double.

Sal Accardi (Dix Hills, NY) managed to navigate his was to the final table, playing with a stack that was never over twenty bigs (over the last three levels).  Unfortunately, he couldn't find the critical double that he needed, as Fred Dabus eliminated Sal in tenth place.  Sal was flipping for his tournament life with A♠ 9♠ against Fred's 5 5, and watched as Dabus ended up making a straight on the river.  Sal had his father on the rail today, who was extremely proud to see his son reach the final table...even though it was short of their ultimate goal.

Ryan Jaworski (Plantation, FL) had flown under the radar for most of the day, but managed to make a nice run, falling just short of the final table.

Ryan Jaworski (Plantation, FL) had his fortunate change in a snap, as back-to-back hands saw him eliminated on the final table bubble.  First, his J♠ J♣ lost to A J, and then lost the very next hand with K♠ J♠ against Richard Leger's A Q.

The tournament supervisor is now giving players their final table seating assignments, which we will update as soon as they are settled in.

$360 NLH $50,000 GTD (Day 2): Tom Gity Gone In 12th Place ($1,455), Magnetta Making Him Crazy

Total Entries: 211
Players Remaining: 11

Tom Gity (Pompano Beach, FL) has been playing some great tournament poker as of late, and hopes to continue that trend on his trip to Las Vegas (for the WSOP Main Event).

Tom Gity (Pompano Beach, FL) had himself over 500,000 chips, but then ran into the hurricane that has been John Magnetta.  Gity first doubled up Magnetta, as his A♠ K♠ fell to John's K K, which left Tom with just over ten big blinds.  Then, just moments ago, Tom would shove from early position (for 179,000).  Raminder Singh would lay down his hand, and Magnetta would flat, eliciting folds from the blinds:

Gity: A♠ 10
Magnetta: A J

Runout: J♠ 10♣ 9♣ 4♠ 3♣

Gity was in bad shape when the cards were tabled, and couldn't find a comeback through the runout.  He would complete yet another deep run, collecting $1,455 for his twelfth place finish.  The field is now on the final table bubble, as players have just over a full level until the next break.

Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL) has been his talkative self this afternoon, chirping away while all of his chips were at risk.

We approached Table 2 during hand-for-hand play, with two players all-in, and another thinking about making the call.  After Alfred Mansur opened the action from the cutoff, Michael Wetcher three-bet shoved for 75,000, with Raminder Singh re-shoving the button for over 200,000.  Action was back on Mansur, who had both players covered, and was deep in the tank.  Alfred eventually took a stack of chips in his hand and placed them across his cards, and we have a three-way all-in on the stone bubble:

Wetcher: A♠ J♣
Singh: A K
Mansur: Q Q♠

Runout: 5♣ 3 2 K♠ 6♣

While Mansur's pocket queens held the lead on the flop, it did bring extra outs for both of his opponents.  The turn quickly changed things, as Raminder spiked a king to grab a commanding lead, which would hold through the river.  Michael Wetcher would be eliminated on the money bubble, while Mansur found himself left with less than ten big blinds.

Raminder Singh - 445,000 (74bb)

John Magnetta (Boynton Beach, FL) eliminated Cheryl Miller, which leaves Brenda Nelson as the "last lady standing."

Approaching Table 2, Cherly Miller and John Magnetta would be on the flop, which read A♣ 4♠ J.  Magnetta had continued (he raised the pot pre) with a bet, to which Miller raised all-in (for just over 70,000).  John had 133,000 behind, and took little time to toss a chip in for a call.  When the hands were tabled, it would be Magnetta's A K♣, against the A♠ 10 of Miller.  The turn (8♠) and river (7) would run out clean for John, who eliminated Cheryl, and chipped up to over 200,000 in the process.

John Magnetta - 228,000 (45bb)

Joseph Marchese (Coral Springs, FL) came into the day as the chip leader, and still holds that spot, after one full level of play.

There was an error in the updates earlier, as it was stated that Day 2 play would resume with 24:00 minutes left in Level 16 (where Flight 1A concluded).  It just so happened, that Flight 1B ended with 25:08 remaining in Level 15, so that is where today's action started.  We are now through that level, with just one player eliminated.  Joseph Patalano came into the day with the second shortest stack (34,500), and busted out just before Level 16 started.  (31) players now remain, with a chip average of (34) big blinds, so action should continue at this slow and steady pace for a little while.

Joseph Marchese came into the day as the chip leader, and has since increased his Day 2 starting stack, eclipsing the 300,000 mark.

Today is the third Day 2 for a multi in the month of June, but things are slightly different this afternoon, as just (32) players return for the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD).  Eleven players will walk away empty handed though, as (21) will reach the money.  All eyes are on the money up top, which will see someone walk away with $16,820.  The number of players returning doesn't mean things will be ending quickly today, as play after Level 17 will be (40) minutes (each level).

Live updates will be posted throughout the day, including hand histories, chip counts updates, and official results.  Play will be underway in just a few moments, as the rules announcement is being made to those already seated in the field.
