Friday, June 17th: Jonathan Jimenez Distances Himself From The Competition, Has Sights On $10,000 No Limit Hold'em WSOP Main Event Seat

ICYMI: Thursday's $200 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD) was notable for a few different reasons, but may be remembered as the event that secured Jonathan Jimenez a $10,000 No Limit Hold'em WSOP Main Event seat.  Last night's tournament saw registration close with a total of (93) entries, which helped the prize pool surpass the posted guarantee.  A total of (12) players were scheduled to earn a piece of the $18,980 prize pool, with action playing down to an outright winner.  Jonathan Jimenez bested Anthony Thunder during heads-up play, earning over $6,022 (and the ever-important leaderboard points that came along).  The win put Jimenez firmly in first place on the leaderboard, as we reach the homestretch.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Jonathan Jimenez (Ft. Luaderdale, FL) $6,022
  2. Anthony Thunder (Ireland) $3,606
  3. Jorge Rivera (Hollywood, FL) $2,278
  4. Mark Rakoff (West Palm Beach, FL) $1,471
  5. Philip Whitaker (Miami, FL) $902
  6. Angelo Castaldi (Sunrise, FL) $759
  7. Igor Evseev (Hallandale Beach, FL) $664
  8. Michael Brinson (Boynton Beach, FL) $602
  9. Christian Giraldo (Clearwater, FL) $550
  10. Lomb Bradley (Minneapolis, MN) 4512
  11. Dustin Kelly (Stuart, FL) $475

Tournaments: With the arrival of the weekend, comes the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)...a new event that replaces the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 12,000.  Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  At the end of registration, players will have the opportunity to add-on for $40 (receiving an additional 15,000 chips).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).
