Thursday, May 23rd: Holiday Weekend Begins Early, As The $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) Gets Underway

ICYMI: Wednesday morning means one thing when it comes to recurring tournaments, and that's the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($3,000 GTD).  Yesterday's installment saw registration close with (29) entries in the field, and an official prize pool of $3,000.  While three spots were scheduled to earn $1,000 payouts, players ended up agreeing to a four-way deal (on the money bubble).  Official results from the chop are listed below:
  1. Harry Silver (Boca Raton, FL) $984
  2. Blaine McRae (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $841
  3. Morris Heider (Boca Raton, FL) $740
  4. Joseph Mancuso (Deerfield Beach, FL) $435
Tournaments: Today we see the action open for the final multi of the month of May, a $175 No Limit Hold'em event, that boasts a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.  There are eight flights over the next four days (two flights each day), with players that bag chips scheduled to return on Monday (at 1:00pm).  Each of the flights have the same structure, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 16,000 units, and levels that last (30) minutes in length.  Registration for each flight is open through Level 8, with action scheduled to conclude after Level 16.  Today's flights begin at 11:00am (Flight 1A) and 6:00pm (Flight 1B).

For those players looking to join the action for a fraction of the price, there will also be a $50 No Limit Hold'em Satellite each day (guaranteeing three seats into the tournament).  The satellite begins at 3:00pm each afternoon.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

There is an addition to the day's promotions, with the "Twilight Full House" promo beginning at 6:00pm.  The promotion sees (30) total prize awarded, with the breakdown as such: the first (15) full houses (that are tens full or better) will be awarded $50, while the first (15) quads or better will be awarded $150.  In order for hands to qualify for the promotional prize, they must be made using both hole cards (in Omaha, players must flop the qualifying high hand to be eligible).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
