Wednesday, October 24th: Jerry Wong Adds Another Title To The Resume, As Another Tournament Makes It's "First Time" Appearance

ICYMI: Yesterday's headlining tournament was Event #8 of the 2018 Isle Open ($1,000 8-Game Mix), which landed on the schedule for the first time ever.  Many of the notables that were expected to play were in attendance (Phillip Hui, Brian Hastings, Lazaro Rodriguez, Jerry Rodriguez, and Ian O'Hara), with some surprising new faces in action as well.  The field grew to (26) entries, and saw registration close with a prize pool of $23,010.  Four places were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing down to an outright winner.  After the in-the-money eliminations of Cory Zeidman (4th Place) and Ian O'Hara (3rd Place), Jerry Wong and Mitchell Smith were left to battle it out.  Wong eventually came out victorious, adding another title to his impressive tournament resume, all the while increasing his lifetime earnings by $10,354.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Jerry Wong (Margate, FL) $10,354
  2. Mitchell Smith (Palm Beach, FL) $6,213
  3. Ian O'Hara (Coconut Creek, FL) $3,912
  4. Cory Zeidman (Boca Raton, FL) $2,531
The other two events on Tuesday's schedule were an $80 No Limit Hold'em "Step-Satellite," and a standard $175 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into Event #11 ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em Main Event $300,000 GTD).  The winners from the "step-satellite" were Steve Olivier, Andrew Davis, and Devond Marshall.  The $175 NLH Satellite attracted a sizable field of (74) entries, awarding (7) seats into the main event, and (1) place that earned a cash prize.  The results from the satellite are listed below:
  1. Ory Hen (Event #11 Seat)
  2. Michael Nicholas (Event #11 Seat)
  3. David Coughlin (Event #11 Seat)
  4. David Hinson (Event #11 Seat)
  5. Waldemar Wasilewski (Event #11 Seat)
  6. Trent Smith (Event #11 Seat)
  7. Ido Ashkenazi (Event #11 Seat)
  8. Lawrence Klur ($600 Cash)
Tournaments: Today's schedule sees two $80 No Limit Hold'em "Step Satellites" into the $340 NLH Mega-Satellites that are upcoming, with a "main event" tournament sandwiched between. The satellites are structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (15) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, so it's important to arrive early.

The headline tournament of the day is Event #9 of the 2018 Isle Open, which is an $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Six-Max, one of the more popular tournament formats with the bigger buy-in players.  The event is structured with 25,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (30) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, and the break that follows.

Promotions: The day begins with the "New Early Bird" Full House Promotion, which started August 27th, and runs every Wednesday.  Opposed to the full house promotion that includes all games, this particular promotion is for the limit hold'em players.  Starting at 9:00am, the first (25) full houses (in a limit game), will be awarded $40 each.

From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
