Thursday, January 10th: Prepping For Another Big Weekend Of Poker Action At The Isle

ICYMI: Wednesday's tournament slate kicked off (at 11:00am) with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($3,000 GTD).  This event has only been gaining popularity since it arrived on the recurring schedule, with yesterday attracted a field of (39) entries.  That meant that the $3,900 prize pool would be scheduled to be spread across four payspots (3 $1,000 winners, and one $900 winner). While that was the case, a deal was made before the money was reached, with five players walking away happy.  Only Yesniel Pulido (Davie, FL) walked away with a scheduled $1,000 payout, with the official results from the tournament listed below:
  1. Yesniel Pulido (Davie, FL) $1,000
  2. Zaki Lichaa (Pompano Beach, FL) $775
  3. Alan Dobrow (Melville, NY) $755
  4. Phillip Proffer (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $675
  5. Joseph Mancuso (Deerfield Beach, FL) $675
The evening tournament was an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which boasted a $1,500 guaranteed prize pool.  After eight levels of open registration, the field ended up closing with (21) entries, and an official prize pool of $1,515.  The three scheduled payouts were awarded without any alteration, as the tournament played down to an outright winner.  Results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Marcello Nucci (Chevy Chase, MD) $757
  2. John Nucci (Chevy Chase, MD) $455
  3. Roberto Desosogos (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Tournaments: Two "staple" tournaments of the recurring schedule highlight Thursday's schedule, beginning at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack." The player-friendly event is structured with 25,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  This tournament has a history of attracted nice sized fields, with today's installment expected nothing less.

The "Monster Stack" is followed at 6:00pm, by a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Bounty" event.  It should be noted, that this tournament is not the "turbo bounty" that runs on Sunday's, as players get extended levels of (20) minutes (along with the 20,000 unit starting stacks).  Registration is also open through Level 8, not the ten levels that the turbo allows.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
