Thursday, March 7th: Two Tournament Staples, And The "Twilight Full House" Promo

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament schedule began at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor," which had a $3,000 guaranteed prize pool. At the halfway point of open registration, it looked like the tournament would have an overlay (for the first time), but a strong late rush saw the field close with (38) entries.  The $3,800 prize pool was scheduled to be paid out across four spots (three $1,000 winners, and one $800 winner), but players ended up agreeing to a six-way deal, with the results posted below:
  1. Robert Mantin (Aventura, FL) $700
  2. Aaron Berman (Wellington, FL) $700
  3. JC Madrid (Margate, FL) $600
  4. Jeffrey Oldakowski (Pompano Beach, FL) $600
  5. Salvatore Accardi (Pompano Beach, FL) $600
  6. Francois Gagne (Hillsboro Beach, FL) $600
The "Survivor" was followed (at 6:00pm) by a $80 No Limit Hold'em event, that carried a $1,500 guarantee.  That posted number was eclipsed early, as the field reached (35) entries, with an official prize pool of $2,365.  Five players were scheduled to get paid, with the deal-making occurring once play was heads-up, as Shachar Ginzburg (Coral Springs, FL) took home first place honors.  Official results from the event are listed below:
  1. Shachar Ginzburg (Coral Springs, FL) $830
  2. Hubert Weibhaupt (Stolberg, Germany) $731
  3. Lisa Do (Parkland, FL) $355
  4. Marianne Dewitt (Lauderdale Lakes, FL) $260
  5. August Kraft (Pompano Beach, FL) $189
Tournaments: Two "staple" tournaments of the recurring schedule highlight Thursday's schedule, beginning at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack."  The player-friendly event is structured with 25,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  This tournament has a history of attracted nice sized fields, with today's installment expected nothing less.

The "Monster Stack" is followed at 6:00pm, by a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Green Chip Bounty" event.  It should be noted, that this tournament is not the "turbo bounty" that runs on Sunday's, as players get extended levels of (20) minutes (along with the 20,000 unit starting stacks).  Registration is also open through Level 8, not the ten levels that the turbo allows.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

There is an addition to the day's promotions, with the "Twilight Full House" promo beginning at 6:00pm.  The first (25) full houses made (after 6:00pm), that are tens full or better, will be awarded up to $100 (dependent on which game is being played).  A full list of payouts for each game are posted in the poker room (with the promo's official flyer to be posted here on the blog shortly).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
