Monday, January 6th: "From Worst To First," Chien Chiu Wins $200 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) In A Five-Way Deal

ICYMI: At 12:00pm yesterday afternoon, a total of (162) players returned, for Day 2 of the $200 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD).  Play was pretty deep to start the day, as it took almost three hours to reach the money, with (87) players taking home their respective share of the prize pool.  After the money bubble burst, action began to pick up, as the field was widdled down pretty quickly.  The final table was reached just after 8:00pm, and after half of the players were eliminated from that last tournament table, a five-way deal was agreed to.  Official final table results are listed below, but something to take note of, is the name that ended up taking home first place money.  Chien Chiu came into Day 2 with just 30,000 chips, which was the tournament's starting stack...and just seven big blinds!!!  It just goes to show, as long as you make it to Day 2 (regardless of where you start the day), you always have a chance!!!  Official final table results are listed below, with full tournament results to be posted later this afternoon:
  1. Chien Chiu (Coconut Creek, FL) $20,275
  2. Benjamin Robinson (Coral Springs, FL) $16,906
  3. Don Flynn (Pompano Beach, FL) $14,791

  5. Daniel Couzens (Boca Raton, FL) $10,648
  6. Manuel Amaro Alvarez (West Palm Beach, FL) $5,415
  7. Harmeet Singh (Tampa, FL) $4,485)

Tournaments: Today's schedule focuses on the $80 No Limit Hold'em "Sit-N-Go" once again.  These single-table tournaments are paying out two spots, with the first and second place finishers earning $350 (adding an element of "survivor" to the proceedings).  Players that are interested in these "Sit-N-Gos" can put their name on the list (at the brush stand), and once ten names are collected, the tournament will begin.

Promotions: The day's promotions begin at 9:00am, with three hours of "Turbo High Hands," as $100 will be awarded every (10) minutes (rollovers apply).  The promotion runs from 9:00am-12:00pm, and has quickly become popular with the players (as the rollovers have seen some high hands reach the $1,000 mark!!!).

The standard high hand promotion then takes over, and runs from 12:00pm-12:00am.  Qualifying high hands will be awarded $300, given away every (30) minutes (no rollovers).  During that period, if the winning high hand is made using one card, a $150 prize will be awarded.  For those players playing in a tournament, winning high hands will be paid out $100.

From 12:00am-3:00am, $50 high hands will be awarded every (60) minutes.
