ICYMI: Friday's $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) saw a more intimate field that usual, but that does stop from awarding players prizes, along with Player of the Month leaderboard points. Registration for the tournament closed with a total of (50) entries, which equated to an official prize pool $6,100. A total of (7) players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing down to a heads-up final table. The final two players agreed to a chop, with Pedro Palacio taking home first place (2,097). The 17.19 leaderboard points helped Pedro distance the gap between himself, and the rest of the Player of the Month leaderboard field. Official results from the tournament are listed below:
- Pedro Palacio (Coconut Creek, FL) $2,097
- Jeffrey Whitman (Hollywood, FL) $1,500
- Louis Collette (Pompano Beach, FL) $824
- Celso Leroy (Delray Beach, FL) $580
- Pathana Bougnasiri (Boca Raton, FL) $458
- Robert Transue (North Lauderdale, FL) $366
- Paul Freedman (Delray Beach, FL) $275
Tournaments: Saturday's 6:00pm tournament is one of the most popular on the schedule, as it offers an incredibly affordable buy-in, that always sees some great returns. The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) event has consistently crushing the posted guarantee, as the prize pool reaches five-figures on a weekly basis.
The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 12,000 chips, and levels that last (20) minutes throughout the event. Registration is open through Level 8, allowing for almost three hours of play, prior to the window closing for the night.
Promotions: From 10:00am (the minute the doors open) until 5:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).
In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 10:00am-1:00pm time period. If a player makes a straight flush in the 10:00am-10:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 10:00am-1:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).
Then, from 5:00pm-11:00pm, the high hands will increase to $500 (and will be awarded every 30 minutes).
From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.
