Tuesday, May 2nd: "Daily Schedule" With A Strong Return, Tuesday's Got Two Good Ones

ICYMI: After the weekend's multi-flight tournament, the month started yesterday with two tournaments on the daily schedule.  The afternoon event ($80 No Limit Hold'em w/ $10 Bounties $2,000 GTD) has been a Monday staple for months now, but the players were out in force yesterday, as a total of (50) entries made up the field.  That's a great showing for that particular tournament, which surpassed the guaranteed number with a $2,400 prize pool ($500 bounty pool).  The players did pay an extra "bubble" spot out of their own pockets, but the rest of the payouts went as scheduled (there would be no chop).  Andre Allon (Boca Raton, FL) bested Todd Kasten heads-up to take down the tournament, and a first place prize of $888.  The results from the final table are posted below:

  1. Andre Allon (Boca Raton, FL) $888
  2. Todd Kasten (Boynton Beach, FL) $528
  3. Arthur Rodriguez (Pembroke Pines, FL) $324
  4. David Zwiebel (Boca Raton, FL) $228
  5. Woody Bonarto (Sunrise, FL) $180
  6. Michael Spadafore (Boynton Beach, FL) $144
  7. Gerald Blum (Boca Raton, FL) $108
The evening tournament was changed from the "Big Bounty" $230 No Limit Hold'em w/ $100 Boutnies, to a $75 No Limit Hold'em event (both beginning at 6:00pm).  The inaugural tournament drew (37) entries ($1,961 prize pool), and once the field reached the five spots slotted to be paid, a deal was made between the group.
  1. Peter Bejusca (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $509
  2. Donald Gordon (Boynton Beach, FL) $474
  3. Daniel Shortly (Lake Worth, FL) $359
  4. Heather Oken (Davie, FL) $347
  5. Jared Carter (Pompano Beach, FL) $272
Tournaments: There are two tournaments on the daily schedule once again, starting a 11:00am with the $100 No Limit Hold'em ($3,000 GTD), which has steadily become the most popular daytime event of the week.  The field sizes have ranged from 45-65 in the past month, with players realizing how good of a value the event really is (25,000 starting stack and 20 minute levels).

That tournament is then followed at 6:00pm by the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($12,000 GTD), also known at the "Tuesday $12k."  One of...if not, the premier tournaments on the schedule, this event usually sees field sizes above (350-400) players.

Promotions: Outside of what we like to refer to as the "standard high hand" promotion, today's promotion calendar feature the "Early Bird Limit Hold'em" special.  This promotion sees those players, only playing limit hold'em, earn money for each full house they have (it's required that the hand also wins the pot).  Those playing 2/2 LHE will earn $20 for each full house, while those playing 2/4 LHE will earn $40 for each full house.

11:00am - $100 No Limit Hold'em ($3,000 GTD)

- Players start with 25,000 in tournament chips
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
- Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
- Level will last (20) minutes throughout the event

6:00pm - $60 No Limit Hold'em ($12,000 GTD)

- Players will begin with a 12,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
- Optional player "add-on" at the end of Level 8 ($20 for 8,000 tournament chips), with 100% of the "add-on" going to the prize pool
-  Levels are (20) minutes in length

Monday, May 1st: Agrachov Claims Trophy In Deal, May Schedule Is Upon Us

Dmitry Agrachov - "April $100,000 GTD" Winner
ICYMI: Just before midnight last night, (12) players remained in the $360 No Limit Hold'em Deep Stack $100,000 GTD.  As advertised, the stacks were super deep (event at that stage), with a (30-35) blind chip average amongst those playing at the final two tables.  Once the Tournament Supervisor announced that players would be bagging chips at the end of Level 28 (12:30am), rumblings of a potential chop began.  Some player's schedules conflicted with a Day 3 (which would have been today at 1:00pm), and while there were some against a chop, and agreement was made once the ICM numbers were run.  Dmitry Agrachov (Weston, FL) was the chip leader at the time of the deal discussions, and would be awarded first place money (and the trophy), worth over $20,000.  The rest of the payouts were as followed:

  1. Dmitry Agrachov (Weston, FL) $20,363
  2. Dave Gelley (Boca Raton, FL) $15,418
  3. Justin Levy (Coconut Creek, FL) $15,360
  4. William Underdown (Deerfield Beach, FL) $14,517
  5. Juan Rodriguez (Boca Raton, FL) $14,013
  6. Carlos Torres (Weston, FL) $12,582

  10. Jim Hamburger (Delray Beach, FL) $8,809
  11. David Inselberg (New York, NY) $8,147
  12. John Page (Wellington, FL) $7,586
Tournaments: There are two tournaments on the schedule to start the month, one of which is new to the "daily schedule."  The afternoon event is staying the same, the $80 No Limit Hold'em w/ $10 Bounties ($2,000 GTD) that begins at 11:00am.  The next tournament is taking the place of what was the $230 No Limit Hold'em w/ $100 Bounties event, and is a $75 No Limit Hold'em tournament.  Players enter the evening event with starting stacks of 15,000 units, and play (20) minute levels throughout the event.

Promotions: Outside of the "standard" high hand promotion, the weeks gets a "quick" start with "Turbo High Hands," offering $100 every (10) minutes from the period of 9:00am-12:00pm.  Rollovers do apply with this promotion (with each game in the house eligible), so it's not uncommon to see a player pick up anywhere from $100-$500 during the promotion.

11:00am - $80 No Limit Hold'em w/ $10 Bounties $2,000 GTD

- Players will begin with a 10,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels

- Alternates and late entries will receive full stacks
- Levels are (20) minutes in length throughout

Tournament Supervisor Rick Mims just made announcement to the players remaining regarding the schedule, letting them know that the plan is to bag after Level 28 (and return tomorrow).  Nothing is set in stone, but that's the tentative plan as of now.

Moments after that announcement, Jim Hamburger and David Inselberg got it in blind v. blind, with Hamburger holding 3 3♠ against David's A♣ Q♣.  Jim would flop a set to double up, leaving Inselberg will just under 300,000.  The two would get it in again just two hands later, with Inselberg getting the best of Hamburger in round two.

Jim Hamburger - 700,000
David Inselberg - 650,000

The level transitioned a few minutes ago to Level 14, with blinds going up to 12,000/24,000/3,000, and a 742,000 chip average (just over 30 big blinds).  Esther Foley won a sizable pot towards the end of Level 23, getting it in with 3♣ 3 against the Q♠ Q♣ of Steven Bennett, but fortunate enough to flop a set and eliminate Bennett.  Esther is now over 1,200,000, and holding a top ten stack in the field.  With the elimination of Paula Alibrandi before dinner, Esther is now the "last lady standing."

David Gelley (Boca Raton, FL)

David Lopez started the day with the second largest chip stack (376,500), but had a roller coaster afternoon that saw his graph spike up and down for hours.  Edward Novak began the day with exactly chip average, and spent most of the day trending upward, eclipsing 500,000 at his peak.  They were both all-in and at risk pre against David Gelley, who held the best hand heading to the runout:

Gelley: A♠ J♣
Lopez: J♠ 10♠
Novak: A 8

Board: A♣ K 7 6♠ 5

Gelley's hand would hold the whole way through, and he'd eliminated both players, while chipping up to 1,200,000.
