Nassin Vaknin (Davie, FL) is up over 2,000,000, running beyond pure since returning from dinner.

Nassin Vaknin (Davie, FL) has been one of the most active players since returning from dinner, and he'd continue the trend moments ago, opening from early position to 20,000 (this was one of the final hands of Level 19).  Action would fold around to Daren Stabinski in the big blind, and he would respond with a three-bet to 82,000.  Vaknin made the call, and the two would see a flop of J♠ 6♥ 7♥.  Daren led for 95,000 (with just over 400,000 behind), and was immediately met with an all-in from Vaknin, to which he called.

Stabinski watched as Vaknin tabled 4♥ 5♥, holding a straight flush draw against his A♣ A♠.  Nassin found the flush right on the turn (J♥), and after fading the four outs a Stabinski, he would become the tournament's chip leader (2,100,000).

Carey Pickus (Atherton, CA), just as she watches Nissim Vaknin spike a king on the flop to eliminate her.

Carey Pickus (Atherton, CA) and Nancy Birnbaum were the last two ladies in the field, but they were going in different directions.  While Nancy was hovering around the chip average (295,000), Carey was doing her best to double-up, as she was grinding a sub-ten big blind stack for the past few hours.  With action folding around to Pickus in the small blind, she would shove for just over ten big blinds, with Nissim Vaknin calling her from the big blind.

"You want the chips, well here's your chance," Pickus said, just before turning over her Q♠ Q♦.  While she was well ahead of Nissim's K♦ 10♦, her reaction when seeing his hand, was one of displeasure. Carey stood up just as the K♣ 3♦ 8♦ flop fell, shaking her head as the runout brought her no help.  Pickus would earn $2,749 for her 42nd place finish, and has already jumped in the Event #22 field ($570 No Limit Hold'em).

Everyone in the Event #21 field was a fan of Frank Lerczak (Buffalo, NY), except for Walter Strakowski.

The money bubble lasted seven hands, and ended in dramatic fashion...for Walter Strakowski (West Palm Beach, FL).  Walter was all-in for less than five big blinds, having flopped a straight with 5♠ 7♥, on a 6♣ 8♥ 9♠ board.  Unfortunately, the runout wasn't as kind as the flop, with Frank Lerczak making the nut straight with Q♠ 10♠, after a J♣ on the turn.  The remaining (51) players in the field are guaranteed at least $2,422, but all eyes are on the $112,075 first place prize.  As players get eliminated, the official results will be posted by pay jump.

Michael Newman's (Nanuet, NY) dream run continues, after he doubles through Victor Figueroa, chipping up above the average.

Table 1 was approached just as Michael Newman's stack was being broken down by the dealer, having just doubled up through Victor Figueroa.  The chips got in on the turn of a board reading A♥ 2♦ J♦ 5♦, with Newman holding A♦ 4♦, against the J♥ 5♥ of Figueroa.  The river didn't not bring a full house for Victor, who's two pair fell to Newman's flush.

Newman now sits with just over 180,000, and is looking to make a similar "dream run" to Noel Atherley, who bought into Event #15 on Day 2 (only to go on and win the tournament).

It took Dan Heimiller (Las Vegas, NV) a few attempts to find a bag, and even though he came into the day with less than the starting stack, he's now increased that tenfold. 

Dan Heimiller (Las Vegas, NV) didn't travel to Florida to not find a bag in this tournament, as his persistence is looking to finally be working out.  Dan came into Day 2 with 28,900 (after numerous attempts at bagging), which was the fourth smallest stack of the (105) players to start the day.  After one complete level, Heimiller is now over 240,000, and one of the top twenty stacks in the field.

Brian Hastings (Ithaca, NY) started Day 2 with just over 133,000, but has since increased that amount to 175,000, winning a sizable pot from Joshua Beckley moments ago.

The 2015 WSOP Main Event runner-up (Joshua Beckley) has had a rough start to the day, after coming in with 168,200.  Beckley had Nicholas Mahabee all-in and at risk (pre-flop), for a pot worth close to 80,000, holding Q♣ Q♦ against Mahabee's A♣ 5♣.  Nicholas would flop a flush draw, and then turn an ace to win the hand, taking a small chunk from Beckley's stack.

A few hands later, Brian Hastings would open the button for 5,500, with Beckley three-betting to 15,000 out of the big blind.  Hastings made the call, and the two would watch the dealer fan out a flop of J♦ 10♠ 3♠.  Beckley continued with a 12,000 bet, but was met with resistance, and Hastings raised to 35,000.  After a good two minutes in the tank, Beckley made the call, and then checked to Hastings after the 5♣ on the turn.  Brian announced himself all-in, for just under 70,000, which was about eighty-percent of Josh's stack.  Beckley ended up folding his hand, and now sits with less than half of what he started Day 2 with.

Michael Newman (Nanuet, NY) ran pocket kings into aces last night, and while it was a rough way to depart, he's back in action this afternoon.

The Day 2 buy-in was an option for any player that wanted to take it, with (12) players deciding that is was worth a shot.  Two of those players just got their starting stacks all-in pre, with Michael Newman's 9♠ 9♣ besting the 4♥ 4♦ of Sean Perry (on a runout of A♥ 8♦ 3♥ 3♦ K♠).  Newman now has close to half the current chip average (120,000), but a much more manageable stack of over (25) big blinds.

Sunday, October 29th: Isle Open Championship "Moving Day" Is Upon Us, Day 2 Begins At 12:00PM

ICYMI: Day 1C of the Isle Open Championship ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em) was the final opportunity for players to bag up Day 2 chips, and the numbers surely reflected that.  When the night ended, the official number of entries would close at (187) entries, of which (45) players successfully bagged chips for Day 2.  Important to note was the (166th) entry, which joined the field just after dinner, and signified the $500,000 guarantee being reached.  Leading the way when the bagging process finishing up, was Robert Jonsson (Deerfield Beach, FL), who comes into "moving day" with 505,600.  Followers of the blog may remember Jonsson from the final table of Event #15 ($1,100 No Limit Hold'em), where he finished in fifth place ($8,349).  Some other notables to bag top stacks from Day 1C, included Nissin Vaknin (367,900), Frank Lerczak (293,600), Andres Morales (190,900), Al Gomez (127,100), and Sheddy Siddiqui (115,800).

The official numbers from the opening flights of Event #21 (with registration still open until the cards are in the air at 12:00pm) saw a combined total of (392) entries.  From that number, (93) players are returning for Day 2, looking to get their hands on a piece of the $529,200 prize pool.

Tournaments: Day 2 of the Isle Open Championship begins at 12:00pm, and sees a transition in the structure, the moment the cards get in the air.  Levels start at (60) minutes (when the first card gets pitched), and continue that way through the event's conclusion.  The tournament will experience a redraw when (27) players remain, again when (18) players remain, and one last time at the final table.  Day 2 is scheduled to conclude when the final table is reached, or at the tournament director's discretion.  Live blogged coverage of the proceedings begin 12:00pm, and goes through the end of Day 2.

The championship event calendar is back this afternoon, with Event #22 getting the cards in the air at 2:00pm.  The "rake-free" event has a $510 buy-in, and is labeled as a "Players Appreciation Event."  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that are (30) minutes in length.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-3:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.
