Sunday, August 12th: Wrapping Up The Week, With The Final Starting Flight For The "Night Owl"

ICYMI: Saturday's tournament schedule kicked off at 11:00am, with the $250 No Limit Hold'em "Black Chip Bounty" event.  This particular tournament had been on the recurring schedule before, but made it's return yesterday afternoon, after a few months away.  Registration would end up closing with (33) entries, and an official prize pool of $3,465 (and bounty pool of $3,300).  Things would end in a ten-way deal, with Lawrence Gradus (Margate, FL) earning first place money ($705).  Outside of some notable names adding cashes to their resume, we also saw a pair of brothers reach the final table together.  Official results from the tournament (and the chop) are listed below:
  1. Lawrence Gradus (Margate, FL) $705
  2. Kevin Scarola (West Palm Beach, FL) $662
  3. Francois Gagne (Miami, FL) $505
  4. Stephen Meikle (Pompano Beach, FL) $433
  5. Jonathan Marcu (Boca Raton, FL) $328
  6. Frank Hagan (Davie, FL) $267
  7. Stephen Wood (Palm City, FL) $228
  8. Marcin Plewinski (Coconut Creek, FL) $158
  9. Devin Weinberg (Delray Beach, FL) $131
  10. Michael Weinberg (Delray Beach, FL) $48
The "Night Owl" ($175 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 GTD) almost lived up to it's name (literally), as Flight 1D was in doubt, because of an afternoon power outage that closed the casino.  To compensate for the closure, the fourth starting flight began at 7:00pm (opposed to the scheduled 6:00pm), and ended up attracting the largest of the fields to have been played.  Registration closed with (84) entries, with (9) players bagging chips at the 17:10 minute mark of Level 16 (when the field reached the 10% mark).  Michael Storms bagged the Flight 1D chip lead (384,500), with official counts from the flight posted below:

Michael Storms - 384,500
Brett Steinman - 249,000
Pedro Estevez - 220,000
Devond Marshall - 156,000
Noe Acosta - 129,500
Raminder Singh - 101,500
Jonathan Beskin - 64,500
Giovanni Sigurta - 34,000
Aaron Klausman - 9,500

With one flight left to be played, the "Night Owl" has now seen a total of (289) entries, of which (31) players have bagged chips for tomorrow's Day 2.  The current prize pool sits at $39,593, which means that (76) entries are needed this evening, to reach the $50,000 guarantee.

Tournaments: Today's tournament schedule begins at 11:00am, with a $170 No Limit Hold'em CPPT Package Satellite (Into Event #1 & Event #8), which has a (5) seat guarantee.  The ever-popular package satellite is structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes.  Registration for the event is open through Level 8, and the (10) minute break that follows.

The evening time slot hosts the final starting flight for the "Night Owl," a $175 No Limit Hold'em multi, that boasts a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.  Each of the flights has a 6:00pm starting time (hence the "Night Owl" moniker), and is structured with 16,000 unit starting stacks, along with (20) minute levels.  Registration is open through the first eight levels, with play scheduled to end after Level 18 (or when the 10% mark is reached).  Players that successfully bag chips will be returning on Monday (August 13th) for Day 2 (6:00pm).

Promotions: From 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), players have the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-3:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
