Tuesday, January 17th: Blake Earns Isle Classic "Double", "Monster Stack" And "Tuesday $10K" Return

Andrew Blake (Boynton Beach, FL)
Yesterday's Isle Poker Classic schedule saw two bounty events on the schedule, both of which ended in a chop.  The first tournament, a $125 No Limit Hold'em w/ $25 Bounties ($20,000 Guarantee) event, attracted a total of (228) entries.  The prize pool was over $16,400, and while the first place prize that was posted was $4,595, Andrew Blake (Boynton Beach, FL) earned $2,203 for the "winner's share" in a nine-way deal.  Receiving the "winner's share" is becoming a regular thing for Blake, who less than a week ago, took down Event #7 in a heads-up chop.  Blake earned $4,950 for his share of a heads-up chop, and would have to be considered the "Player Of The Series" to this point of the Isle Poker Classic.

The agreement was spread pretty evenly amongst those involved, with the difference in first and ninth place money just under $1,400.  The full results will be posted to the blog, including a list of the (26) other players to cash in the event.

Yesterday's evening event (Event #13) was a $100 No Limit Hold'em "Deepstack Turbo" w/ $25 Bounties ($5,000 Guarantee).  The tournament also ended up in a
Adel Jo (Miami, FL)
chop, but this time it was heads-up, with Adel Jo (Miami, FL) earning his second Isle Poker trophy in the last five weeks.  Adel earned $1,583 for the win, with Alberto Weber ($1,000) taking home $1,000 for his second place finish.  The full results from this event will also be posted to the blog, including the list of the (7) other players to cash in the event.

Tuesday's Isle Poker Classic schedule sees the return of the "Monster Stack" in the early afternoon (11:00am), followed by the ever-popular "Tuesday $10K," one of the most popular events each month (even when a series isn't going on).

11:00am - Event 14 $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($5,000 Guarantee):

- Players receive 25,000 in tournament chips

Monday, January 16th: Shannon's Second Chance, Isle Poker Classic's "Bounty Monday"

Yesterday blog coverage was solely focused on the Event 10 live coverage, but there was a "Second Chance" tournament that was in play just as the chop was being made.  Event 11 of the 2017 Isle Poker Classic was a $75 No Limit Hold'em $15,000 Guarantee tournament, which attracted a total of (165) entries.  There was a small overlay for the tournament, with the prize pool event at $15,000, and a $4,645 posted first place prize.

The tournament ended once players reached the final table, with the ten remaining players agreeing to what would become the second ICM chop of the day.  Michael Shannon (Boca Raton, FL) would be declared the "winner," taking home the tournament's trophy, as well as a $3,171 payday.  Other Isle Poker notables to be part of the chop included Hector Caraballo (4th Place), Jean Chery (5th Place), and Pedro Palacio (10th Place).

On the Isle Poker Classic schedule are two bounty events, the 11:00am ($125 buy-in) offers a $20,000 guarantee, while the 6:00pm ($100 buy-in) is a Turbo Deepstack, and offers a guarantee of $5,000.

11:00am - Event 12 $125 No Limit Hold'em Deepstack (Re-Entry) w/ $25 Bounty ($20,000 Guarantee);

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

Pedro Aldave (Hallandale, FL) 1st Place ($6,758)

Pedro Aldave (Hallandale, FL) is a well travelled players, with cashes in numerous different countries across the world.  Pedro has more than one Hendon Mob resume, with one based in the United States, and another from Italy.  His combined earnings to date were over $22,000, but this "winner's share" tops any of his cashes to date.

Event 10 (Day 2): 2nd Place - Wellins ($5,025)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

Tevy Wellins (New York, NY) 2nd Place ($5,025)

Tevy Wellins (New York, NY) came into the day with over $35,000 in career earnings, most of which came from a score in 2012.  Wellins reached the final table of the Borgata Winter Poker Open opening event, a $500 No Limit Hold'em tournament that had over 3,700 entries.  His ninth place finish was worth $31,096 that night, and headlined his career for years.

His "runner-up" finish this evening was worth $5,025, and is his only other cash above $1,000 on his resume.

Event 10 (Day 2): 3rd Place - Lasher ($4,852)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

Wesley Lasher (Sunrise, FL) 3rd Place ($4,852)

Wesley Lasher (Sunrise, FL) had two recorded results on his resume coming into the day, one of which was a $16,149 "win" from Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood ($150 No Limit Hold'em Deepstack).  This is Lasher's first recorded score at the Isle Poker Room, and takes his career earnings above the $20,000 mark.

Event 10 (Day 2): 4th Place - Rosenberg ($4,688)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

Luke "Big Money" Rosenberg (Parkland, FL) 5th Place ($4,688)

Luke Rosenberg (Parkland, FL) was the story of Day 2, storming out of the gates once play resumed, and amassing a massive chip lead.  The stack size allowed for Luke's active play afterwards, and although he was on the wrong side of a handful of flips, he was able to take the punches and remain standing.  When play got down to two tables, "Big Money" was super short, but found a few doubles to put him right back in contention.

Rosenberg earned his second largest career score with his fifth place share of the deal, taking home $4,688 for his efforts.  Being an Isle tournament (and cash game) regular, Luke was clearly the crowd favorite, with numerous players on his rail wishing him good luck.

Event 10 (Day 2): 5th Place - Idsinga ($4,247)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

Robb Idsigna (Nunica, MI) 5th Place ($4,247)

When it comes to poker accomplishments, Robb Idsinga (Nunica, MI) likely has the most notable of the eight players to make today's deal.  Idsinga won his first WSOP Circuit ring last year, taking down a $365 No Limit Hold'em event during the Tunica stop ($28,379).  Idsinga has (7) recorded results on his resume, totaling earnings of $41,419.  The $4,247 Robb earned for his fifth place share of the deal is the third largest score of his career.

Event 10 (Day 2): 6th Place - Sader ($3,874)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

Omar Sader (Coral Springs, FL) 6th Place ($3,874)

Once the numbers are read aloud to the players, the decision is then theirs to place a singular chip in front of them (if they agree to the deal).  Seven of the eight players had placed that chip forward, and the final decision was upon Omar Sader (Coral Springs, FL).  Sader has (15) recorded cashes on his resume, totaling close to $15,000, so he may have been thinking about his past experience possibly giving him a slight edge.  Experience or not though, anything can happen when the average stack is less than ten big blinds, so he happily placed the final chip forward to complete the agreement.

The $3,874 Sader earned for his sixth place share of the agreement is his second largest score of his career, behind a daily tournament hosted at the Venetian in Las Vegas (Feb. 2015).

Event 10 (Day 2): 7th Place - Hicks ($3,567)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

Richard Hicks (Pompano Beach, FL) 7th Place ($3,567)

Richard Hicks (Pompano Beach, FL) had six career results heading into this tournament, with his largest coming here in May (2016) when he finished 35th in a $120 No Limit Hold'em "Bankroll Maker" event ($471).  For his share of the deal, Hicks ended up walking away with $3,567, which is almost three times his earnings to date.

Event 10 (Day 2): 8th Place - Pacelli ($3,482)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

Dominic Pacelli (Boca Raton, FL) 8th Place ($3,482)

Dominic Pacelli (Boca Raton, FL) was the shortest of the stacks remaining when the discussion of a chop began, but only by a few big blinds.  The $3,482 that Pacelli earned for this eight place finish seems to be the first recorded cash of his career.  Dominic is currently focusing on his studies at Florida Atlantic University, where he majors in Civil Engineering.  This may not be his first ever tournament cash, but it's a great "recorded" start on his Hendon Mob resume.

Event 10 (Day 2): Event 10 Ends With ICM Chop (8 Ways)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 8

The remaining eight players went over the numbers in regards to an ICM chop just moments ago, and an agreement was made between the group.  The numbers have not yet been made official, but we can tell you that Pedro Aldave was declared the "winner," taking home over $6,700.  The official numbers will be posted in 30-45 minutes.

Event 10 (Day 2): 9th Place - Dresser ($1,019)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 9

Ron Dreszer (Aventura, FL)

Ron Dreszer (Aventura, FL) was the next to be eliminated from the final table, just moments after Capote's departure.  This was also Dreszer's first cash of the year, and he adds the $1,019 ninth place money to his career earnings of $7,775.

Event 10 (Day 2): 10th Place - Capote ($661)

Event 10 ($60 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guarantee)
Level 34 (Blinds 120,000/240,000/30,000)

Total Entries: 1,378
Players Remaining: 9

Lazaro Capote (Hialeah, FL) 10th Place ($661)

Lazaro Capote (Hialeah, FL) came to the table as one of the shortest stacks, but was able to pick up a few pots over the first handful of hands.  Capote picks up his first cash of 2017, and adds the $661 he earned for tenth place to his career earnings of $2,914.

Luke Rosenberg (Parkland, FL)
The remaining Event 10 players are currently on a (10) minute break, and will be returning to Level 26 (25,000/50,000/5,000).  We've been losing players at a rapid pace, which shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, as the chip average is just over (10) big blinds.

Luke Rosenberg (Parkland, FL) is experiencing something that tournament players just dream of.  Most every time he's been in a pot...he's won it.  When players shove into him...he has the best of it.  When he shoves and players call...he has the best of it.  The runouts have been clean, and he's be somewhat of a vacuum in terms of scooping up newfound chips.

Rosenberg continues to be the Day 2 story, as he is already above 2,600,000!!! That's more than 10% of the chips in play, with over (40) players still remaining.

Before play reached "hand for hand," Luke Rosenberg and Curtis Daye were involved in what has to be the pot of the tournament to this point.  The action wasn't caught until the hand was finished, as the dealer was cutting down Rosenberg's stack for Daye to match.  Luke held 7 7♠ against Daye's A K♠ on a board of 7♣ A♠ 4 6 Q.  Once the stacks were matched and the chips were pushed Rosenberg's way, he would have over 800,000.

Since that hand, Rosenberg has continued to trend upwards, and now sits with over 1,000,000.  He is the first and only player to eclipse that mark, and is looking good to potentially best his career highlighting score of $5,004.

Al Efremoff (Hollywood, FL) may be a name that sounds familiar to followers of the blog, as he was featured numerous times during the 2016 Isle Poker Open.  Efremoff took second place in the opening event of the series for $15,169, and followed that up with a win in Event 4 ($2,143), and another cash in Event 9 ($1,071).

Efremoff had been absent for months since this series, but bagged chips on Friday night (170,500), and just sent our field into the money.  Efremoff was racing with 8♣ 8♠ against the A J of our "bubble lady," as the dealer put down a runout of 9♣ 8♥ 6 7 Q.  There were no other eliminations that hand, which means the player holding A J was unfortunate walk away from the tournament area empty handed.

Players are now on a (10) minute break, and will be returning to Level 21, and new blinds of 8,000/16,000/2,000 (207,000 chip average).
