After the overwhelming success of last week's $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), players immediately looked towards the next "special event" on the schedule, which begins momentarily.  The $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD) is the first multi-day tournament to use the single-ante format, after introducing the structure variation back in August (to the Florida poker community). 

The tournament has three starting flights over the next three day's, with players that bag returning to Sunday for Day 2.  With the many satellites still available for the tournament, players should take note of the starting times for the opening flights.  Today's Flight 1A begins at 2:00pm, with tomorrow's Flight 1B beginning at the same time, and Saturday's Flight 1C moving to 1:00pm.  The event is structured with starting stacks of 30,000 units, and levels that last (40) minutes from Level 1-14.  After Level 14, which is when Day 2 is scheduled to begin, the levels will transition to (50) minutes.  Registration for each flight is open through Level 8, and the dinner break that follows...which means players can join the action until just before 8:30pm.

There will not be live blogged coverage of the event, but followers of the blog can check back each day to see official numbers from the flights, along with official chip counts.  After the conclusion of Saturday's Flight 1C, the Day 2 seating assignments will also be updated on the blog (and Twitter).  Big things are expected for this tournament, so we will try and bring as much information as possible when the tournament reaches it's final stages.

Thursday, April 26th: The $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD) Has Arrived, Satellites Continue

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament action kicked off with a $150 Limit Omaha 8B Hi/Lo ($2,500 GTD) event, which attracted a total of (24) entries, and saw registration close with a prize pool of $2,688.  Once the payouts were posted, players would learn that four spot were scheduled to get paid, with limits getting super high as the money bubble was reached.  Once the bubble burst, and the stacks so shallow, players agreed to a four-way deal, with the results listed below:

Tournaments: It's a full schedule today, with everything revolving around the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD).  The day starts at 10:00am, with a $130 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into the $1,100 NLH Single-Ante (1 in 10 wins seat).  The satellite is scheduled with starting stacks of 10,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes over the course of the action.

Sandwiched between two satellites is the actual event players have all circled, with the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD) beginning at 2:00pm.  The first of three flights (Flight 1A) is structured with starting stacks of 30,000 units, and levels that last (40) minutes (and will transition to (50) minutes on Day 2.  Registration is open through Level 8, and the dinner break that follows...so players have until the first hand is dealt in Level 9 to join the action.  The day is scheduled to play through Level 14, which action winding up just after midnight.

The second satellite of the day starts at 6:00pm, and is a $240 No Limit Hold'em satellite into the $1,100 NLH Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD).  One in every five entries in the event will award a seat in the payouts, with this option very popular for players this week.  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 12,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8, and the players that do win seats, can choose the either of the remaining pair of flights to enter (Flight 1B or Flight 1C).

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament schedule was highlighted by two $240 Satellites into the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD), and event that's shaping up to be another special one.  The afternoon $240 No Limit Hold'em Satellite drew a total of (22) entries, meaning that four players would earn seats into the $1,100, with a fifth place spot earning cash ($440).  The results from the satellite are listed below:

In the evening, players have one last opportunity to "step" into the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($200,000 GTD).  The $65 No Limit Hold'em "Step Satellite" will offer 1 in 5 entries a seat into a $240 No Limit Hold'em Satellite of their choice (two remain, on Thursday and Friday night).  Just like the step satellites that were run on Monday, players will be sitting down to starting stacks of 8,000 units, with levels lasting (15) minutes throughout the tournament.  With the turbo structure, players have until the end of Level 10 to enter the event.

Monday, April 23rd: $175 NLH $100,000 GTD Ends In Ten Way Deal, Satellites Start Today For $1,100 NLH Single-Ante

ICYMI: Yesterday afternoon, (166) players returned for Day 2 of the $175 NLH ($100,000 GTD), from a total of 1,356 entries.  While everyone was focused on the big payouts at the final table, the first goal of the day was to reach the money.  After an hour of play, the hand-for-hand process would start, with Paul Nguyen (Portland, OR) eliminated on the money bubble.  With the field then in the money, the bust outs were fast and furious, with the field down to three tables just a few hours later.  Still remaining at the point, were notables like Al Gomez, Thomas Millward, Joseph Conti, Jose De La Cruz, and UFC star Colby Covington.  Those players would all fall short of the final table, Jose De La Cruz bubbling the final table in dramatic fashion.  Jose was all-in against Robert Tannenbaum with eleven players left, holding A♠ K♥ against Robert's 10♥ 10♦.  The flop would come out A♠ K♣ 8♥, but the turn (Q♥) and river (J♠) would bring running broadway cards, giving Robert the winning straight.  Tannenbaum went to the final table seconds in chips, just moments after beginning a slow walk towards the payout podium.  Only two hands would be dealt at the final table, before Uri Teneboim brought up the idea of making a deal.  Players agreed that they would like to see the ICM numbers, which after small negotiations, were appealing to everyone.  Alvaro Grisales held the chip lead at the time of deal, giving him first place money, as well as the tournament title.  The official results from the chop are listed below:

Michael Bonsignore (Hollywood, FL) was texting his buddies about his good fortune to triple-up, and then managed to find another double just a few hands later.

On one of the final hands of Level 27, Michael Bonsignore was all-in for just two big blinds, and watched as there was a re-shove and call behind.  When the hands were tabled, Bonsignore would have a slim lead with A♥ 5♦, against K♠ Q♥ (Jose De La Cruz) and K♣ 10♦ (Marc Duquette).  The board would run out 2♠ 8♥ 10♣ Q♠ A♣, giving Duquette the lead on the flop, and Jose the lead on the turn.  The river then gave Bonsignore the final lead, which helped him more than triple up to 460,000.
