Tuesday, September 11th: Erik Christensen Tops The $360 NLH ($100,000 GTD), As "Win, Place, Show" High Hands Headline Tuesday's Schedule

ICYMI: At 12:00pm yesterday afternoon, (25) players returned for Day 2 of the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), ready to play down to a winner.  The action started off pretty quick, as Preecha Taepakdee eliminated Barton Taylor (25th place) on the second hand of the day, flopping bottom set against top pair.  After that, it took an hour to lose just four more players, with the final two tables reached after ninety-minutes of play.

As the field got closer to reached the final table, we saw numerous notables add a deep Isle Poker tournament run to their resumes.  Richard Wetter, Leticia Galinis, Anthony Mucci, Engelberth Valera, and Rodney Moret-Rojas, all earned cashes worth over $1,425.  Preecha Taepakdee would then be the first player eliminated from the "unofficial final table" (10th place - $2,010), and would be followed by Matthew Bretzfield (Kings Park, NY), who continued his solid tournament run (which has lasted for over a month now, winning $2,310 for his 9th place finish).  Even though she started Day 2 with the second smallest stack, Edina Pantinchin (Miami Beach, FL) was able to "short stack" her way to the final table, departing just moments after Bretzfield, and collecting $2,370 for her 8th place finish.  After Shannon Mau's (Miami, FL) elimination in 7th place ($3,155), the final table would lose David Inselberg (Boca Raton, FL), who came into Day 2 with the overall chip lead (6th place - $3,705).  The final five would be battling it out for some healthy payouts, but there would be no deal-making until heads-up play was reached, with Erik Christensen (Miami, FL) and Zachary Milchman (Boca Raton, FL) chopping up the top two prizes.  Erik held the chip lead at the time of the deal, and would be awarded first place money, along with the top spot in the official results (which are posted below):
  1. Erik Christensen (Miami, FL) $20,498
  2. Zachary Milchman (Boca Raton, FL) $18,367
  3. Tracy Scala (Village Of Golf, FL) $9,515
  4. Richard Leger (Lighthouse Point, FL) $5,790
  5. Eric Kolodny (Sunny Isles, FL) $4,470
  6. David Inselberg (Boca Raton, FL) $3,705
  7. Shannon Mau (Miami, FL) $3,155
  8. Edina Pantinchin (Miami Beach, FL) $2,730
  9. Matthew Bretzfield (Kings Park, NY) $2,310
Tournaments: The day's tournament schedule begins at 11:00am, with an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, that boasts a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, levels that last (20) minutes, and registration that is open through Level 8.  At registration's close, players will have the opportunity to purchase an "add-on," receiving 10,000 units for $20.  This tournament is also eligible for the "free seats" to this Friday's $80 No Limit Hold'em ($3,000 GTD).  Any player that makes quads or better, will receive entry in the tournament just listed.

At 6:00pm, we see the same $80 No Limit Hold'em tournament, carrying the same exact structure (with the exception of the eligibility for "free seats").

Promotions: Tuesday's promotion schedule starts with the ever-popular Full House Early Bird, with the first (25) full houses awarded up to $60.  The amount won depends on which game is being played, with 2/2 Limit Hold'em players earning $20 (for each eligible full house), 2/4 Limit Hold'em players earning $40 (for each eligible full house), and those playing 1/2 through 5/10 No Limit Hold'em, 3/6 Limit Hold'em,. and 8/16 O.E. earning $60 (for each eligible full house).

The standard high hand promotion begins at 10:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that time period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible for the high hand, which would be worth $100.  2/2 Limit Hold'em players are eligible to win $200, 2/4 Limit Hold'em players are eligible to win $300, while all other raked games are eligible for $400 high hands.

At 6:00pm (and running through midnight), we see the return of the "Win, Place, Show" promotion, which awards up to three high hands every hour:

The cards got in the air for Day 2 of the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) just moments ago, with (25) players still eligible for the $22,950 first place prize.  Everyone returning is already in the money, and are guaranteed at least $850 (which is what 22nd through 25th place will earn).  Play will resume with (15) minutes left in Level 13, which is the point that Flight 1A reached the 8% mark.

David "Coldstone" Inselberg will start Day 2 play with the overall chip lead (425,000), but has a handful of players that are just one big pot away from surpassing his number (Tracy Scala, Vito Polera, Erik Christensen).  Matthew Bretzfield is once again atop the leaderboard, and with his recent tournament success, would have to be a favorite to make another deep run.

Official results will be posted as each pay jump is reached (throughout the afternoon into evening), continuing through the final table, and conclusion of the event.

Monday, September 10th: Start Of The Week Headlined By Day 2 Of The $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD)

ICYMI: Yesterday was the final flight of the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), and considering the circumstances (with a potential overlay), Flight 1F ended up the largest opening flight by far.  After eight levels of open registration, the sixth flight of the tournament closed with a total of (111) entries, of which (14) would "reach the money," and (9) would bag chips for Day 2.  The bagging process would begin just before midnight, with tournament regular Vito Polera packing away the Flight 1F chip lead (367,500).  He was almost 100,000 chips clear of Preecha Taepakdee, whose second largest Flight 1F stack was 274,500.  Some other notables to bag from the final flight included Zach Milchman (254,000), Richard Wetter (208,000), and Amy Wan (196,500).

The overall numbers from the tournament saw the event close with (280) entries, and an official prize pool of $100,000 (of which $92,850 will be paid out this afternoon, after removing the Day 1 payouts).  There was a small overlay of $16,000, covered by the Isle Casino Pompano Park, to honor the posted number.  Official payouts from the event have not yet been released, but will be posted here on the blog the moment they are available.

Day 2 action begins at 12:00pm this afternoon, as (25) players return to battle it out for the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) title.  Official seating assignments for Day 2 can be found by clicking here, or scrolling back to yesterday's updates.  The official results will be posted throughout the day (as they occur), with sporadic updates available throughout the afternoon/evening (there is no "detailed" live blogged coverage for this Day 2).

Sunday's schedule also saw the return of the recurring tournament schedule, and a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" at 6:00pm.  Results for that tournament will be updated here on the blog, shortly after the poker room opens at 9:00am.

Tournaments: As mentioned above, today's tournament schedule begins with Day 2 of the $360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), which gets underway at 12:00pm.  Play will resume with 15:00 minutes remaining in Level 13, which was the point that Flight 1A concluded.

The one recurring event on today's schedule begins at 6:00pm, and is a $100 No Limit Hold'em tournament.  The structure sees players sitting down to starting stacks of 14,000 units, levels that last (20) minutes in length, and the return of add-ons.  At the end of registration, players have the opportunity to add to their stack, with a 10,000 unit add-on for $20.  Registration for the tournament closes at the end of Level 8.

Promotions: The day begins with the "New Early Bird" Full House Promotion, which started August 27th, and runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday.  Opposed to the full house promotion that includes all games, this particular promotion is for the limit hold'em players.  Starting at 9:00am, the first (25) full houses (in a limit game), will be awarded $40 each.

From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.

- Players start with 20,000 in tournament chips
