Thursday, February 6th: The Buzz Continues To Grow, In Regards To Tomorrow's $400 No Limit Hold'em ($40,000 GTD)

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament schedule hosted two $60 No Limit Hold'em satellites into tomorrow's $400 No Limit Hold'em ($40,000 GTD).  While the official results have not yet been submitted for release, we can tell you that a total of (5) seats were awarded over the course of the day.  There is another satellite on today's schedule, allowing players another chance to join the weekend's action, for just a fraction of the price.

Tournaments: As mentioned above, today's tournament action gets started at 11:00am, with a $60 No Limit Hold'em satellite into the $400 No Limit Hold'em ($40,000 GTD).  The satellite is structured with 8,000 unit starting stacks, (15) minute levels, and has registration that is open through Level 8.  Approximately 1 in 8 players will earn a seat into tomorrow's festivities, with any extra money in the prize pool, earning a cash prize.

In the evening time slot, we have the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Chip Buster" ($3,000 GTD), one of (if not) the most popular recurring tournaments on the schedule.  The event is structured with 50,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

Promotions: The doors open at 9:00am, with three hours of "Turbo High Hands," as $100 will be awarded every (10) minutes (rollovers apply).  The promotion runs from 9:00am-12:00pm, and has quickly become popular with the players (as the rollovers have seen some high hands reach the $1,000 mark!!!).

The standard high hand promotion then takes over, and runs from 12:00pm-12:00am.  Qualifying high hands will be awarded $300, given away every (30) minutes (no rollovers).  During that period, if the winning high hand is made using one card, a $150 prize will be awarded.  For those players playing in a tournament, winning high hands will be paid out $100.

From 12:00am-3:00am, $100 high hands will be awarded every (60) minutes.

Wednesday, February 5th: "Tournament Tuesday" Crushes, As Players Prepare For $400 NLH ($40,000 GTD)

ICYMI: With the $200 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) in the rear-view mirror, the recurring tournament schedule returned yesterday afternoon.  The day's proceedings got started at 11:00am, with the $120 Omaha 8B Hi/Lo event, which carried a $2,000 guarantee.  That number would be easily eclipsed, as the registration period closed with a total of (28) entries, and an official prize pool of $2,716.  Four players were scheduled to reach the money, but a seven-way deal was agreed to, which would end the tournament much earlier than planned.  Official results of the tournament are listed below:
  1. Marty Raschkovan (Tamarac, FL) $593
  2. Lazaro Rodriguez (Kendall, FL) $593
  3. Stanley Oremland (Parkland, FL) $371
  4. Stephen Ried (Winnipeg, Canada) $328
  5. Gerald Hertz (Pompano Beach, FL) $313
  6. Bernie Moorhead (West Palm Beach, FL) $274
  7. Harry Eisenberg (Way, MA) $244
At 6:00pm, players began arriving for the most popular tournament on the recurring schedule, the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Chip Buster" ($3,000 GTD).  The posted guarantee was reached long before registration closed, as the field ended up with a total of (51) entries, and an official prize pool of $4,947.  Seven players were in line to earn a share of the prize pool, and after two in-the-money eliminations, a five-way chop was agreed to (with the official results listed below):
  1. Danny Blackburn (Deerfield Beach, FL) $1,127
  2. Roberto Alvarado (Pompano Beach, FL) $984
  3. Anthony Casas (Miami, FL) $820
  4. Salvatore Luciano (Venezuela) $784
  5. Christopher Lin (Winter Garden, FL) $712
  6. Brandon Woodburn (Coconut Creek, FL) $297
  7. Craig Browne (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $223
Tournaments: This weekend, we see a new tournament on the schedule for the first time, a $400 No Limit Hold'em ($40,000 GTD).  The event has two flights on Friday, and Day 2 on Saturday, with a guaranteed first place prize of $10,000.  If this event has success, it will likely find it's way back to the schedule in March.

For those interested in playing, but not shelling out the full $400 for the buy-in, there are two satellites on today's schedule.  The $60 No Limit Hold'em satellites will run at 11:00am and 6:00pm, and carry the same structure.  Players will sit down to starting stacks of 8,000 units, with (15) minute levels, and registration through Level 8.
