ICYMI: Sunday's $400 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD) is one of the headlining tournaments on the recurring schedule, with players focused on big payouts and healthy amounts of leaderboard points.  Yesterday's installment was a great example of what a win in that event could do for a player's standing.  The tournament's registration closed with a total of (132) entries, with nine players scheduled to earn a piece of the prize pool.  Alan Katsnelson (Boynton Beach, FL) took home first place money in a deal that ended the action, earning $14,408, along with 38.04 leaderboard points (which helped him go from sixth place to first).  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

Tournaments: At 5:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD)s "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle.  This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2).  To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.

The event will be structured with 25,000 chip starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  The new format-wrinkle comes into play when discussing payouts, as the tournament will pay out just the final table, regardless of how many entries.  Exact payout percentages are as follows (final tables are now nine-handed):

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 12:00pm, there is a new promotion in June, offering boosted Early Bird High Hands.  The high hand at the top of the hour (:00) will be awarded $599, while the high hands at the bottom of the hour (:30) will be awarded $300.  From 12:00pm until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

Sunday, September 25th: Alvaro Vivas Grisales Tops Saturday's Three-Way Chop, With The $400 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD) Headlining Today's Schedule

ICYMI: Saturday's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) gave players another opportunity to better their standing on the Player of the Month leaderboard, with only a handful of events remaining on the calendar.  Cards got in the air at 6:00pm, with the field growing to (54) entries by registration's close (which equated to an official prize pool of $5,000).  A total of seven players were scheduled to earn a piece of the prize pool, with action playing through the money bubble, and down to a three-handed final table.  A deal was agreed upon between the final trio, with Alvaro Vivas Grisales (Miami, FL) taking home first place money.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

Tournaments: This afternoon's tournament is getting a little upgrade, as we see the return of a guaranteed prize pool, in addition to the "final table finish" format.  The $400 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD) event gets underway at 2:00pm, and is structured with 30,000 chip starting stacks.  Levels will last (30) minutes throughout the entirety of the event, with registration open through Level 10 (and the break that follows).  As mentioned, the "final table finish" is in place, meaning that regardless of where the prize pool closes, it will be paid out to only the top nine spots (those that make the final table).  There is a $20,000 guaranteed first place prize, which is sure to attract a special crowd (so get there early)!!!

Saturday, September 24th: Friday's Tournament Finishes In Six-Way Chop, With Ali Ozesen Taking Home First Place Money

ICYMI: While there was a small overlay on Thursday, it's rare that Friday's tournament ($80 No Limit Hold'em $4,000 GTD) doesn't surpass the posted number.  Last night's tournament saw the field reach a total of (75) entries, and after the optional add-ons were included in the prize pool, the official number closed at $5,564.  Ten players were scheduled to reach the money, and after Susan Lichtenstein's elimination in seventh place, the final six players agreed to a chop.  Ali Ozesen (Boca Raton, FL) was awarded first place money, with the official results from the tournament listed below (along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard):

Tournaments: Saturday's 6:00pm tournament is one of the most popular on the schedule, as it offers an incredibly affordable buy-in, that always sees some great returns.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) event has consistently crushing the posted guarantee, as the prize pool reaches five-figures on a weekly basis.  

The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 15,000 chips, and levels that last (20) minutes throughout the event. Registration is open through Level 8, allowing for almost three hours of play, prior to the window closing for the night.

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).
