Monday, May 6th: David Poces Tops Four-Way Deal Of $150 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD), Recurring Schedule Returns To Forefront

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament schedule was headlined by Day 2 of the $150 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD), but there were two other tournaments as well.   The day started at 11:00am, with an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which had a $2,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament's field would close with (19) entries, and a prize pool of $2,000.  Three spots were scheduled to get paid, and after the in-the-money elimination of Susan Krowitz, the final two players agreed to a heads-up deal.  Official results of the tournament are listed below:
  1. Vincent Green (Boynton Beach, FL) $850
  2. Matthew Axelrod (Boynton Beach, FL) $750
  3. Susan Krowitz (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $400
Just as registration was ended in the event above, players began arriving for Day 2 of the $150 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD).  Of the (66) players to return to play, a total of (50) would reach the money.  It took just over two hours for the money bubble to burst, and once players were in the money, the eliminations occurred at a very rapid pace.  Final table action would continue until four players remained, at which point a deal was agreed to, with the official results listed below (for the final table, with tournament results posted later this afternoon):
  1. David Poces (Boca Raton, FL) $9,574
  2. Olivia Katrych (Pompano Beach, FL) $8,216
  3. Antonio Albanes (Key Largo, FL) $7,423
  4. Troy Marchese (Boynton Beach, FL) $6,377
  5. Brian Dunn (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $2,970
  6. Omar Yates (Cape Coral, FL) $2,460
  7. Stephen Kowlessar (Miramar, FL) $2,060
  8. Michael Weinberg (Delray Beach, FL) $1,675
  9. Edward Vojvodich (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,290
  10. Justin Levy (Boynton Beach, FL) $1,085
The 5:00pm tournament, which many looked at as a "second chance" event, was a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" ($2,000 GTD).  After registration closed, the tournament clock showed a total of (19) entries, of which three players were scheduled to reach the money.  Just like the afternoon event before it, things ended in a heads-up chop, with the official results listed below:
  1. Scott Schalk (Boca Raton, FL) $610
  2. Jonathan Marcu (Boca Raton, FL) $610
  3. Richard Maiorino (Delray Beach, FL) $305
Tournaments: This week of recurring tournaments begins at 11:00am, with a $130 No Limit Hold'em event, that carries at $2,500 guarantee. Players in the event will sit down to starting stacks of 16,000 units, with levels that last (20) minutes, and registration that is open through Level 8.

The evening time slot (6:00pm) hosts an $80 No Limit Hold'em tournament, which has a $1,500 guarantee.  The event is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  Prior to the player's first hand, they have the option to get an add-on for $10.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

There is an addition to the day's promotions, with the "Twilight Full House" promo beginning at 6:00pm.  The promotion sees (30) total prize awarded, with the breakdown as such: the first (15) full houses (that are tens full or better) will be awarded $50, while the first (15) quads or better will be awarded $150.  In order for hands to qualify for the promotional prize, they must be made using both hole cards (in Omaha, players must flop the qualifying high hand to be eligible).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
