Event 9 (Day 2): 2-7 Wins The Biggest Pot Of The Night

Event 9 ($300 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee)
Level 31 (Blinds 60,000/120,000/20,000)
Total Entries: 1110
Players Remaining: 5
Chip Average: 4,400,000

Pedro Palacio just won the largest pot of the tournament, and assumed the final table chip lead, all with the 2-7 off.  After Avery Bass and David Ward limped, Palacio completed his small blind, and Rakusa checked his option in the big.  The dealer fanned out a flop of 2♠ 3♣ 7, and Palacio led out for 350,000.  Bass would be the only player to call, and Palacio once again fired after the turn brought the J♠, this time for 975,000.  Bass would elect to raise to 3,000,000, only to hear Palacia announce himself all-in.  Bass tossed a chip forward, signifying a call, and we would have a 9,000,000 pot.  Palacio turned over 2 7, having flopped two pair, and was up against the Q J of Bass.  The river would brick out for Bass, and he'd send over close 70% of his chips Pedro's way.

Perdo Palacio - 9,400,000
Avery Bass - 1,400,000
