Event 1 Winner Evan Braunstein |
If Event 1 of the 2017 Battles At The Beach is a sign of things to come, then we are in for a successful, and eventful series. Yesterday's Day 2 saw (191) players return from the original field of 1,301 entries...a field that made up a prize pool of over $175,000!! The storylines were abound as the tournament played out, many of which will be noted in the Event 1 recap, to be published on the blog shortly. While we've seen many of these multi-flight events discuss deal the moment the final table is reached, action continued until the play was four-handed. The remaining players (Evan Braunstein, "Dave," Lisa Teebagy, and Amer Ibrahim) then brought out the ICM calculator, and a chop was agreed to. Evan Braunstein (Lighthouse Point, FL) received the largest share of the deal, and was declared the tournament's winner. The $22,252 that Braunstein earned was the largest cash of his career, and if that wasn't enough of a highlight, he had the opportunity to share the experience with his girlfriend and family on the rail.
There are more memories to be made today, as the 2017 Battles At The Beach continues with two more events on the schedule.
