Tuesday, April 4th: "Like Father, Like Son," "Tuesday $10k" Headlines Daily Schedule

ICYMI: There were two tournaments on the schedule to start the week yesterday, the first of which was the $80 No Limit Hold'em w/ $10 Bounties ($2,000 GTD), which began at 11:00am.  The tournament's registration wrapped up with (34) total entries, and an official prize pool of $1,688 ($340 Bounty Pool).  Four spots were scheduled to get paid in the event, but once play reached five-handed, a deal was struck:

  1. George Lukawski (Parkland, FL) $436
  2. Paula Holder (Pompano Beach, FL) $411
  3. Walter Chance (Plantation, FL) $337
  4. Gary Brugman (Wilton Manors, FL) $274
  5. William Reich (Pompano Beach, FL) $230
Following that tournament (at 6:00pm), was the $230 No Limit Hold'em w/ $100 Bounties event...which has been gaining in popularity with the players.  Last night's installment attracted a field of (29) entries, and officially ended up with a prize pool of $2,900 ($2,900 Bounty Pool).  The field was scheduled to see three players reach the money, but once a deal was made five-handed, we saw something that had happened maybe a few times in the history of the Isle Casino Poker Room...a chop involving father and son.  Jeffrey Trudeau Jr. (Orlando, FL) was listed as the "declared winner," but received the same $600 as Craig Browne (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), Keith Richeson (Pompano Beach, FL), and Jeffrey Trudeau (Winter Garden, FL).  Michael Tait (Plantation, FL) rounded out the deal with a $500 fifth place finish, but it was the Trudeau "duo" that stole the spotlight.  Trudeau Jr. is a very accomplished tournament player, who will add the $600 (plus bounties) to his career resume, which boasts earnings over $328,000.

Tournaments: There are two tournaments on the schedule once again, the first of which begins at 11:00am, and is a $100 No Limit Hold'em ($3,000 GTD) event.  The tournament has an excellent structure, with players sitting down to a 25,000 starting stack, and playing (20) minute levels throughout the event.  The evening event, which gets underway at 6:00pm is the first of alternating Tuesdays between the "Tuesday $10k," and what was the "Thursday $12k."  Tonight's event is a $40 No Limit Hold'em tournament with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool, and one that usually attracts somewhere between 350-450 total entries.

Promotions: Outside of what we like to refer to as the "standard high hand" promotion, today's promotion calendar feature the "Early Bird Limit Hold'em" special.  This promotion sees those players, only playing limit hold'em, earn money for each full house they have (it's required that the hand also wins the pot).  Those playing 2/2 LHE will earn $20 for each full house, while those playing 2/4 LHE will earn $40 for each full house.
