Wednesday, April 12th: Elevated Tournament Attendance Yesterday, "Spin To Win" Today

ICYMI: The $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD) has been in place for well over a month now, but yesterday seemed to be the day it "clicked" with the tournament poker community.  This is an event unlike many at surrounding properties...offering a 25,000 starting stack, and (20) minute levels throughout the event.  The starting stack allows for super deep play throughout the entire tournament (even in the later stages/final table), while the level length assures players that they can make it home at a reasonable hour.  Tuesday's installment drew a field of (60) entries, crushing the posted guarantee, and finishing with a prize pool of $4,620.  Six players were scheduled to reach the money, but when things reached eight-handed play, a deal was agreed to between the remaining players:

  1. Thomas Gari (Hollywood, FL) $897
  2. Steven Broniecki (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) $890
  3. Donna Broniecki (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) $695
  4. Dwight Pinkerton (Boca Raton, FL) $573
  5. George Lukawski (Parkland, FL) $480
  6. Frank Talierci (Naples. FL) $353
  7. Nancy Thomas (Lauderdale By The Sea, FL) $330
Thomas Gari would have been the main storyline of the tournament, if it wasn't for the two players behind him.  We've seen many "poker couples" when it comes to tournament poker, but this is the first time that a husband/wife combo has finished this high.

While the afternoon event's attendance came as somewhat of a surprise, the (292) entries that made up the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($12,000 GTD) surely didn't come out of nowhere.  The Tuesday installment of the "Thursday $12k" soared past the guarantee (once again), officially finishing up at $14,764.  A total of (27) spots were getting paid, with a min-cash worth $133, and the posted first place prize sitting at $4,132.  After four eliminations at the final table, the final six players agreed to a deal that would end the tournament:
  1. Paul Chrulski (St. Petersburg, FL) $2,001
  2. Daniel Shortley (Lake Worth, FL) $2,000
  3. Alan Brostoff (Boca Raton, FL) $1,703
  4. Paul Louis (Oakland Park, FL) $1,703
  5. Jack Sedaka (Coconut Creek, FL) $1,703
  6. Thomas Millward (Boca Raton, FL) $1,703
Tournaments: With the "Spin To Win" promotion grabbing the daytime attention away from tournaments, the evening event offers up another great value.  The $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" w/ $25 Bounties has a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool, and offers deep play once again (with an 18,000 starting stack).

Promotions: The "Spin To Win" promotion shouldn't really need an introduction anymore, but there are still new people everyday that come to the blog.  From 12:00pm-11:00pm, qualifying high hands (every 30 minutes) earn the opportunity to spin the "money wheel," a Wheel Of Fortune-type jackpot maker in the back of the poker room.  The full results from the promotion will be posted tomorrow morning, with an average of $10,000-$11,000 awarded each Wednesday.  That's not all for Wednesday though, as things start off early with the "Turbo High Hand" promotion...awarding $100 every (10) minutes from the hours of 9:00am-12:00pm.

6:00pm - $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo" w/ $25 Bounties ($5,000 GTD):

- Players will begin with a 18,000 starting stack
- Late and re-entries for the first (10) levels
- Option player "add-on" at the end of Level 10 ($25 for 10,000 tournament chips), with 100% of the "add-on" going to the prize pool
- Levels are (15) minutes in length
