Monday, June 26th: Three-Way Chop, Duffy Tops, And The Monday Action Never Stops

ICYMI: At 12:00pm yesterday afternoon, the $150 No Limit Hold'em ($10,000 GTD) event kicked off the day's tournament action.  The $10,000 prize pool was comprised of (82) total entries, with eleven spots scheduled to reach the money.  The first player to place in the event would walk away with a $280 min-cash, while all eyes were on the $3,224 first place prize.  After the elimination of Duane Minerva in eleventh place, the players reconvened at the final table, with Willie Wiggins, Elliot Goldman, and Alan Saltzman the only "notables" remaining.  That means that some new names had the opportunity to record scores, like Matthew Paul (Delray Beach, FL), who ended up topping a three-way deal that ended the tournament.  Prior to yesterday's event, Matthew Paul had only one cash on his resume, a $302 finish from Event 10 of the 2017 Isle Poker Classic.  Paul earned $2,353 as his part of the deal, and would split the top three spots with Dai Lam and Lawrence Langsbard.

  1. Matthew Paul (Delray Beach, FL) $2,353
  2. Dai Lam (Margate, FL) $2,247
  3. Lawrence Langsbard (Hallandale, FL) $1,787
  4. Andrew Payson (Parkland, FL) $820
  5. Carlos Garcia (Miami, FL) $625
  6. Alfredo Guevara (Hialeah, FL) $500
  7. Willie Wiggins (Miramar, FL) $415
  8. Elliot Goldman (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $350
  9. Alan Saltzman (Lantana, FL) $323
  10. Domenico Caruso (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $300
The "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" event saw the final of three installments get underway at 6:00pm, and would attract a field of (30) entries.  Sunday night was "ladies' night" in terms of tournament poker, as the four-way chop that ended the tournament had only men's name on the payouts.  Karen Duffy (Delray Beach, FL), a tournament poker regular, earned the top spot and $750.
  1. Karen Duffy (Delray Beach, FL) $750
  2. Mauricio Garcia (Wellington, FL) $717
  3. Christine Colantuoni (Hypoluxo, FL) $530
  4. Denise Westerfield (Coconut Creek, FL) $503

Tournaments: There are two tournaments on the schedule to start the week, with the first beginning at 11:00am.  The $80 No Limit Hold'em w/ $10 Bounties tournament carries with it a $2,000 guarantee, and offers players an event structured to finish up in the late afternoon.  This event usually wraps up some time between 3:00-4:00pm, and most often gets chopped up.  While the field for the Monday afternoon event is on average between 20-30 entries, the new evening tournament in place sees upwards of 200-300 entries.  The $60 No Limit Hold'em ($12,000 GTD) had a home on Tuesdays (and Thursdays), but has since relocated to this time slot.  The tournament sees players sit down to starting stacks of 12,000 units, and playing (20) minutes throughout the entire event.

Promotions: Outside of the "standard high hand" promotion, there will be "Turbo High Hands" from 9:00am-12:00pm.  During that window of time, $100 will be awarded to the qualifying high hand every (10) minutes (rollovers apply).
