For the second time in the month of June, the Saturday evening tournament slot would be filled by the $120 No Limit Hold'em ($8,000 GTD) event. The field was comprised of (113) total entries, which equated to prize pool just over $9,600. There were (15) places scheduled to be paid, with a min-cash in the tournament worth $216, and $2,833 up top. Some familiar names that reached the money (but fell short of the final table), were Linzell Borders (Tamarac, FL) and Gary Fitzgerald (Miami, FL). The final table hosted some notable players as well, and the eventually became pieces of what would be a ten-way chop. Sharon Pickard (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) earned her first ever "tournament win," and would almost match her career (recorded) earnings with this one cash.
- Sharon Pickard (Ft. Lauaderdale, FL) $1,289
- Tina Tellone (Sunrise, FL) $1,000
- David Aronson (Hallandale, FL) $914
- David Kahan (Boca Raton, FL) $904
- Derek Felbinger (Boca Raton, FL) $861
- Elliot Goldman (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $783
- Michael Dotson (Jupiter, FL) $750
- Hosney Boutros (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $743
- Fausto Terisgni (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $674
- Alain Alvarado (Miami, FL) $539
Tournaments: With today being Father's Day, there is only one tournament on the daily schedule, a $150 No Limit Hold'em event that begins at 12:00pm. Players in the event sit down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, and will be playing (25) minutes throughout.
Promotions: For a number of months, Sunday's high hand promotion has been of the "turbo" format, with $300 awarded every (15) minutes from 2:00pm-9:00pm (rollovers apply). While that promotion is still in place this afternoon, there will be an extra six hours of "turbo" high hands, with $100 awarded every (10) minutes, from 8:00am-2:00pm (rollovers apply). However you break it down, it's $600 worth of high hands up for grabs over the span of (13) hours. Both tournaments are high hand eligible, adding even more appeal to the events.
