There was an "additional" event on the Isle Open schedule yesterday, as the $510 No Limit Hold'em "Rake Free" Satellite Into Event #14 ($2,500 No Limit Hold'em Single-Day Series | $100,000 GTD) got underway at 12:00pm. There were moments were the satellite looked like it was going to have a large overlay, but as players realized they couldn't let that value pass up, the number would grow. A total of (24) entries made up the field, which guaranteed five seats into Event #14. The following players will be in attendance tomorrow afternoon:
- Ory Hen (Event #14 Seat)
- Charlemagne Benjamin Jr. (Event #14 Seat)
- Daniel Pearlman (Event #14 Seat)
- Doug Nelson (Event #14 Seat)
- Rafael Calero (Event #14 Seat)
The evening event (Event #12), which began at 6:00pm, attracted the largest "non-multi" tournament field of the series. A total of (357) entries made up the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($12,000 GTD) event, and after the optional add-ons were included, the official prize pool would close at $17,854. A total of (45) players would reach the money, with a min-cash worth $91, and first place scheduled to receive $3,764. With so much money left up top, when the final table was reached, it was easy for the players to reach a deal. James Newcomb (Parkland, FL) was featured during Event #1 blog coverage, and has now returned to the spotlight, as the declared winner of Event #12.
- James Newcomb (Parkland, FL) $2,143
- Jean Fabien (Lake Worth, FL) $1,568
- Richard Spencer (Sunrise, FL) $1,413
- Anthony Casas (Miami, FL) $1,403
- Hari Sukhu (Miramar, FL) $1,371
- Richard Gress (Plantation, FL) $1,312
- Brunel Sicar (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,154
- Greysi Panchame (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,045
- Francklin Michel (Miramar, FL) $680
- Jesse Oviasogie (Miramar, FL) $443
Tournaments: There are two tournaments on the Isle Open schedule on Wednesday, one from the championship side, and the other from the secondary side. The tournament from the championship schedule is Event #13, a $140 No Limit Hold'em "Goliath Stack" event, which has a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool. The "Goliath Stack" offers a structure with 35,000 unit starting stacks, and transitioning levels. Levels are (15) minute through Level 8, transitioning to (20) minutes from Level 9 forward. Registration is open through Level 11, which is also a new wrinkle we are seeing for one of the first times.
The day's evening event (6:00pm) is a satellite into this weekend's "major," as the $130 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into Event #15 offers up (10) guaranteed seats. The $1,100 buy-in tournament begins this Friday, with Day 2 finishing things up on Sunday. The satellite is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes throughout the tournament.
Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes. The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
