Wednesday, January 17th: Recapping Two More Deals, As The Midweek Action Continues

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament action kicked off with a $100 No Limit Hold'em event, which carried with it, a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool.  A total of (21) entries made up the tournament's field, with the prize pool falling on the posted number ($2,500).  A total of three players were scheduled to reach the money, but when the tournament reached the money bubble, those remaining agreed to a deal.  Ira Horowitz (Miami, FL) was the lucky recipient of the "added" pay spot, while Sara Azmi (Miami, FL) headed the four-way deal.  The details of the deal can be seen below:
  1. Sara Azmi (Miami, FL) $786
  2. Barry Teller (Tamarac, FL) $725
  3. William Reich (Pompano Beach, FL) $580
  4. Ira Horowitz (Miami, FL) $409
Tuesday's evening event was an $80 No Limit Hold'em tournament, which boasted the same guarantee as the event that came before it ($2,500).  The numbers were very strong last night, with (54) entries making up the field, and an official prize pool of $3,078.  Eight places were scheduled to get paid, with action playing through the money bubble, eventually pausing when things were three-handed.  A deal was then agreed to, with Danny Blackburn (Deerfield Beach, FL) the tournament's declared winner.
  1. Danny Blackburn (Deerfield Beach, FL) $787
  2. Raul Sotolongo (Union City, NJ) $744
  3. Ronald Brown (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $700
  4. Edward Rappa (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $292
  5. Ryan Swain (Parkland, FL) $231
  6. Nasim Tukhi (Philadelphia, PA) $165
  7. Bradley Henson (Pompano Beach, FL) $139
Tournaments: Todays' tournament action begins at 11:00am, with the $120 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty," which has a $3,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The event is structured with starting stacks of 18,000 units, and levels that last (15) minutes throughout the afternoon.  At the end of registration (after Level 10), players can choose to take an optional add-on, which sees a return of 10,000 units for $25 (with 100% of add-on money going towards the prize pool).  Players will also be awarded a $25 green chip for every elimination throughout the event.

After the "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" concludes, an $80 No Limit Hold'em event follows (at 6:00pm), which has a $2,500 guarantee.  The tournament is the same that has run the two evenings prior, and carries the sam structure.  Players sit down to starting stacks of 12,000 units, and play levels that last (20) minutes.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
