Friday, March 16th: Cohen And Gordon Add Major Tournament Titles To Their Resumes, Over $30,000 In Combined Guarantees On Today's Schedule

ICYMI: Yesterday's Battles At The Beach scheduled kicked off at 11:00am, with the $250 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante.  The tournament had a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool, and was the first of four single-ante events on the schedule.  After ten levels of open registration, the field would close with (118) entries, with fifteen players scheduled to reach the money.  The money bubble burst shortly after 6:00pm, with action continuing through the final table.  The tournament clock would eventually paused, as a deal would be made when four players remained.  Ian Cohen (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), who spent most of the early evening as the chip leader, would be the declared winner.  The win is Cohen's second major tournament title, with his first coming during last year's Florida State Poker Championships ($570 No Limit Hold'em - Event #21).  The final table results are listed below, with full tournament results to be published later this afternoon.

The 6:00pm time slot hosted Event #4 of the Battles At The Beach, which was a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty."  The tournament had a $10,000 guarantee, which was surpassed, after the field would be comprised of (115) total entries.  Just like the afternoon event, a total of fifteen players were scheduled to reach the money, with the tournament ended in the second chop of the day.  The evening's version would be an eight-way deal, with Donald Gordon (Boynton Beach, FL) taking the winner's photo with the trophy.  Listed below are the details of the deal, along with the rest of the final table results.

Tournaments: Friday's Battles At The Beach schedule begins at 11:00am, as the cards get in the air for Event #4 ($80 No Limit Hold'em).  The smaller buy-in event offers a sizable guarantee, as players will be battling it out for a prize pool that's going to be $10,000 (at the least).  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 12,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes over the course of the event.  Registration is open for the first eight levels, with the window closing just before 2:00pm.

The guarantee doubles for the evening event, as players will be arriving at 6:00pm for Event #5.  The $150 No Limit Hold'em event has a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool, and an even more player friendly structure.  The starting stacks grow to 16,000 units, while the levels stay the same as the afternoon event (20 minutes).  Registration is once again open through Level 8, which allows players the opportunity to join until just before 9:00pm.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
