Monday, March 19th: Single-Ante Returns In A Big Way, As The Battles At The Beach Rolls On

ICYMI: Sunday's action started at 11:00am, with Event #8 of the 2018 Battles At The Beach ($80 No Limit Hold'em $10,000 GTD).  The posted guarantee was surpassed long before registration was over, with the final number closing at $12,300.  A total of (26) players would reach the money, with the tournament ended in a final table chop (ten-ways).  Some notables to cash short of the deal were Blaine McRae (24th place), Eric Mutschler (17th place), and John Miller (12th place).  Jamar Brown would head the chop, receiving $1,484 for first place, along with the coveted trophy.  The details of the deal are listed below:
  1. Lamar Brown (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,484
  2. Brina Haines (Southwest Ranches, FL) $1,296
  3. Steve Olivier (Miami, FL) $1,274
  4. Paul Mabel (Coral Springs, FL) $1,049

  10. Mark Bernstein (Hollywood, FL) $605
The evening time slot hosted Event #9, which was a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" ($10,000 GTD).  This particular tournament has found a "home" on Sunday night's, so it's no surprise that the prize pool grew to $13,000 (including bounties).  Once the payouts were posted, player learned that (15) spots would reach the money, as well as first place scheduled to walk away with $2,769.  Those number would eventually be altered, as the tournament finished up in a five-way deal, with Jason Marchman (Tamarac, FL) taking home the title ($1,611).  It should also be noted that John Miller (New York, NY) managed to cash in his second event of the day, as bowing out short of the final table in Event #8.  The full listing of finish table payouts are listed below:
  1. Jason Marchman (Tamarac, FL) $1,611
  2. Matthew Chisolm (Charlotte, NC) $1,433
  3. John Miller (New York, NY) $1,401

Tournaments: The second of four single-ante tournaments kicks off Monday's action, with the $560 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante ($50,000 GTD) beginning at 11:00am.  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 75,000 units, and levels that last (30) minutes over the course of the event.  Registration is open through Level 10, with the window to enter open until just after 4:20pm.  There are already (12) players guaranteed to be in the event, having won their seat from the "chip lead bonus" in Event #1.  We have seen a lot of different price points for these single-ante events, but this is the first time for the $560 buy-in, so it will be very interesting to see how the tournament plays out.

Those players that are looking for a more "accessible" buy-in, can circle the 6:00pm time slot, as Event #11 is a $100 No Limit Hold'em event with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 14,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows), with the period to enter over at approximately 8:50pm.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
