Tom Gity (Pompano Beach, FL) has been away from the game for a while, but after focusing on business matters, is right back where he likes to be...running deep in tournaments. |
The action at Table 4 was caught pre-flop, with four players heading to a flop in a raised pot (one all-in). After the dealer fanned out a flop of Q♣ 2♥ 3♠, Pasquale Caiazza checked to Tom Gity, who drop a bet of 105,000 across his cards. Charlie McLennan was next to act, and after getting the exact count of Gity's bet, he would announce himself all-in (for just over 250,000). Caiazza released his hand behind, and the three players would table their hands:
Gity: A♠ A♥
McLennan: A♥ Q♠
Player X: 4♦ 5♥
Turn: 8♣
River: 9♥
Gity was in great shape to win the side pot, having Charlie drawing to just two outs heading to the turn. The main pot was still in question, as the all-in player flopped an open-ended draw, but bricked the turn and river. "Thank you," Gity said to the dealer, after running the board out clean. With the double elimination, Tom chipped up to 575,000, and it almost double the current chip average.
Tom Gity: 577,000 (36bb)
