Saturday, August 25th: Final Opening Flight Of CPPT Main Event, And $1,200 High Hands Headline Saturday's Schedule

ICYMI: Yesterday's tournament schedule hosted the second opening flight of the Card Player Poker Tour $1,100 Main Event ($250,000 GTD).  After Flight 1A ended with (50) entries, Flight 1B would eclipse that number early in the day, eventually reaching the bagging process with a total of (87) entries.  When that bagging process started, there would be (14) players left to pack away their stacks for Day 2, led by Brett Bader (Jericho, NY).  Bader spent the later stages of the day staidly climbing the leaderboard, which allowed him to bag 323,000, the largest stack of the (26) players to bag so far. There were some other big names to bag from Flight 1B, with Scott Baumstein (293,000), Fernando Halac (280,000), AJ Gambino (260,500), and Brian Hastings (229,500), all ending up in the top five from the flight.

With one flight remaining (Flight 1C at 2:00pm this afternoon), the tournament's prize pool sits at $134,945, which is over $115,000 away from the posted guarantee.  That being said, today's Flight 1C needs a strong showing to eclipse that number, but there will be no talk over an overlay until tomorrow.  Reason being, even if the prize pool is still short after today's flight is complete, registration is open tomorrow as well (until the first card is dealt on Day 2).

Tournaments: Today's tournament action starts at 10:00am, with a $250 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into Event #8 ($1,100 CPPT Main Event), which carries a (5) seat guarantee. The satellite is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minutes.  Registration is open through Level 8 (and the ten minute break that follows), allowing just under three hours for players to join the action.

At 2:00pm, we see the final flight of the Card Player Poker Tour Main Event.  The $1,100 No Limit Hold'em tournament boasts a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool, which should likely be reached towards the later stages of the day.  The event has a major structure, with players sitting down to 30,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (40) minutes (during each starting flights).  Those levels will eventually transition to (50) minutes when Day 2 starts.  Registration is open throughout all of Day 1 (which is scheduled to play through Level 13), and stays open before the first hand is dealt on Sunday (Day 2).

While we have seen satellites for the CPPT Main Event the past few nights, the "standard" Card Player Poker Tour resumes at 6:00pm, with Event #9 of the series.  The tournament is a $150 No Limit Hold'em event, which carries a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The structure sees players sitting down to starting stacks of 16,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes over the course of the night.  Registration is open through Level 8, and the ten minute break that follows.

Promotions: From 10:00am-600pm, players have the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
