While the three scheduled starting flights now in the books, players still have the opportunity to buy into the event on Day 2 (2:00pm), before the first card is dealt. To this point in the tournament, there have been (294) entries, which equates to a $289,500 prize pool. Of those (294) entries, (57) players will be returning to action at 2:00pm this afternoon. A full list of official Day 2 chip counts, along with seating assignments, can be found by clicking here.
Tournaments: Not only can players buy into Event #8 before Day 2 begins, but they can also win a seat, as the final satellite for the tournament gets underway at 10:00am. The $250 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into CPPT Event #8 has a (5) seat guarantee, and is structured the same as the five other satellites that came before it. Players will be sitting down to starting stacks of 12,000 units, with levels that last (20) minutes. Registration for the satellite will be open until the end of Level 8 (and stays open through the ten minute break that follows).
At 2:00pm, the players to have bagged chips for day 2 of the Card Player Poker Tour Main Event ($1,100 No Limit Hold'em $250,000 GTD...along with those utilize the Day 2 buy-in option, will begin play for the day. The only structural change will be in the level length, as the rest of the tournament will be played with (50) minute levels.
As players are getting settled into Day 2 for Event #8, the final event of the Card Player Poker Tour will be starting. Event #10 begins at 3:00pm, and is a $360 No Limit Hold'em "Black Chip Bounty," which should attract a nice sized field. The event is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (30) minutes. Registration for Event #10 will stay open through Level 8, and the ten minute break that follows.
Promotions: From (12:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $100 every (60) minutes. The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand. The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
