Saturday, December 15th: Friday's Succesful Tournament Slate Could Be Signs Of A Strong Poker Weekend

ICYMI: Friday's tournament slate kicked off with the first-ever installment of the $75 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" (1 in 5 win $500).  The event was clearly a hit with the players, as registration for the event closed with (36) entries in the field.  The official prize pool of $1,800, meant that four players were going to "reach the money," and that the guarantee of $1,000 was crushed.  The event eventually ended in a deal, which was made on the money bubble.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Luis Pena-Rivera (Opa Locka, FL) $500
  2. Eva Varkoni (Delray Beach, FL) $325
  3. Raymond Millard (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $325
  4. Kenneth Green (St. Augustine, FL) $325
  5. Ira Horowitz (Miami, FL) $325
The 6:00pm time slot hosted an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which boasted a $3,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The official prize pool grew to $4,993, and exceeded any expectations heading into the event.  Of the (69) total entries, nine players were scheduled to reach the money, with the event ending in a six-way deal.  Official results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. Patricia Basilio (Boynton Beach, FL ) $886
  2. Daniel Luckey (Naples, FL) $838
  3. Angel Anglero (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $737
  4. Bart Lino (Coral Springs, FL) $727
  5. Howard Katz (Deerfield Beach, FL) $620
  6. Joseph Sansevero (East Islip, NY) $585
  7. Cathy Miller (Jupiter, FL) $225
  8. Barry Teller (Tamarac, FL) $200
  9. Brian Curtner (Weston, FL) $175
Tournaments: Saturday's tournament scheduled start off with the return of the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Seniors 50+" event.  This tournament has run multiple times in the past, and been a player favorite, attracting nice sized fields each time (even without a posted guarantee).  The event is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (25) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

Following the "seniors" tournament (at 6:00pm), there is a $150 No Limit Hold'em event.  The evening tournament is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
