Friday, January 18th: Schedule Highlighted By Second Pair Of "Bankroll Builder" Opening Flights, And $500 High Hands (Every 20 Minutes)

ICYMI: Yesterday was the opening day of the $140 No Limit Hold'em "Bankroll Builder" ($75,000 GTD), with the first pair of flights on the schedule.  Flight 1A got things off to a strong start, as the afternoon's registration period closed with (62) entries in the field.  From that number, (7) players would bag chips for Monday's Day 2, led by Jason Thalas (Ft. Lauderdale, FL).  Jason bagged 594,000, which looked to be a number that may stay atop the leaderboard throughout the rest of the scheduled flights, considering he bagged close half of the chips in play (for Flight 1A).  Those interested in seeing the official chip counts from Flight 1A, can click here.

The numbers grew even larger for Flight 1B, as the second flight's registration period closed with a total of (90) entries.  Once again, we would see play stop at the 10% mark, with (9) players bagging chips from the flight.  Jason Thalas's reign on top didn't even last eight hours, as Steve Moreno bagged the Flight 1B chip count, with 632,000.  Official chip counts from Flight 1B can be seen by clicking here.

After two starting flights, the $140 No Limit Hold'em "Bankroll Builder" ($75,000 GTD) has a total of (152) entries, of which (16) players have bagged chips for Day 2.  The current prize pool is $16,264, meaning (549) entries are still needed to reach the posted guarantee.  Each of the next six flights need to average (92) entries to help meet the $75,000 number.

Tournaments: At 11:00am, the third of eight starting flights for the $140 No Limit Hold'em "Bankroll Builder" ($75,000 GTD) will get underway, with a pair of flights each of the next three days (and Day 2 on Monday).  Each of the flights have the same structure: with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  Play is scheduled to conclude after Level 18, or once the field reaches the 10% mark, whichever happens first.  Once either of those moments are reached, players will bag up chips for Monday's Day 2 (which begins at 12:00pm).  Just as Flight 1C is entering it's "homestretch," Flight 1D will begin (at 6:00pm), carrying the same structure as the afternoon installment.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-6:00pm, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

At 6:00pm, the promotion transitions over the one of the two "special" January promotion, which gives players the opportunity to win $500 (every 20 minutes).  During the period from 6:00pm-12:00am, high hands will be awarded every (20) minutes.  Winning high hands that are made using both hole cards, will be awarded the promotional $500 prize.  Winning high hands that are made using one card, will be awarded $250.  "General rules" (which are listed in the poker room) apply to the rest of this promotion.

From 12:00am-9:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
