Just as Flight 1A was wrapping up, Flight 1B was getting underway, with it's first hand dealt shortly after 6:00pm. The final numbers would eclipse those of the afternoon flight, as registration closed with (49) total entries. Action did not make it to the scheduled end of play though, as the 10% mark was reached with 14:00 minutes remaining in Level 14 (which means Day 2 action will currently resume at that point, unless one of the four following flights happens to finish earlier). Robert "Papa Bear" Transue bagged the flight's largest stack, along with the overall leading number. Official Flight 1B chip counts are posted below:
Robert Transue - 314,000
Daniele Condorelli - 265,000
John Magnetta - 176,000
Richard Leger - 157,000
Blaine McRae - 68,000
After one complete day of the $140 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD), there have been a total of (92) entries, of which (11) players have bagged chips for Day 2. It should be noted that only (10) stacks will return for Day 2, as Richard Leger bagged chips from both flights (and can only take his largest stack forward). The currently prize pool sits at $10,396, with the next four flights needing to average (99) entries each, to reach the tournament's posted guarantee.
Tournaments: Today continues the $140 No Limit Hold'em ($50,000 GTD) event, with the busiest flights expected over the next (24) fours. There are four flights remaining (two today, and two tomorrow), with Day 2 scheduled for Monday at 12:00pm. Flight 1C (11:00am) and Flight 1D (6:00pm) both carry the same structure: with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (30) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8. End of flight chip counts will be posted after the conclusion of each starting flight, with detailed "live blogged coverage" on Day 2.
Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand. The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
From 12:00am-9:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
