Saturday, March 30th: Polychronopoulos Takes Down Event #6 Title, As The Battles At The Beach Main Event Rolls On

Event #6 Winner Athanasios Polychronopoulos
ICMYI: At 12:00pm yesterday afternoon, (20) players returned to the poker room, for Day 2 of the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD).  The prize pool was over $15,000 short of the posted guarantee, but the field would gain (14) entries via Day 2 buy-ins, which helped land the official number on the $100,000 mark.  The day's action was pretty swift, as the field was down to the final table just after 4:30pm.  With the levels transitioning to (60) minutes, and stacks super deep, one would guess that things would slow down to a crawl...but that was not the case.  The eliminations kept coming at the final table, with players agreeing to a four-way chop at approximately 7:45pm.  Athanasios Polychronopoulos (Delray Beach, FL) took home first place money in the deal ($21,366), and was also awarded the event's trophy.  Official results from Event #6 are posed below:
  1. Athanasios Polychronopoulos (Delray Beach, FL) $21,366
  2. Michael Amato (Boca Raton, FL) $17,491
  3. Vadims Ivanovs (Hallandale Beach, FL) $14,708
  4. Brandon Noe (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $14,685
  5. Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL) $5,850

At 1:00pm, play got started for Event #7 of the Battles At The Beach, which is the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em ($300,000 GTD) Main Event.  The first of three starting days attracted a total of (37) entries, with (9) players reaching the bagging process.  Luis Zedan led the group with a stack of 190,500, just beating out Anthony Astarita (183,500).  Official chip counts from Day 1A are listed below:
