The headliner for Wednesday was the return of players for Day 2 of Event #1 (2019 Battles At The Beach). Of the tournament's (640) total entries, (69) players came back at 12:00pm, of which (60) would reach the money. Once the money bubble burst (just over an our into the day), the field would shrink at a rapid pace. The tables turned over the course of the day, as many of the top stacks that entered Day 2, bowed out well short of the final table. The final table didn't last long, as a deal was agreed to after the eliminations of Milord Vital and Scott Levitt (10th and 9th place respectively). The details of the deal are listed below, with full tournament results to be posted early this afternoon:
- Dennis Brinn (Boca Raton, FL) $7,850
- Terry Siele (Delray Beach, FL) $7,600
- Alexander Thomas (Gainesville, FL) $7,031
- Jacobo Milhem (Miami, FL) $6,508
- William Farnan (Jupiter, FL) $4,638
- Ronald Johnston (Port Orange, FL) $4,169
- Lebert Grinan (Havana, Cuba) $4,067
- Scott Schalk (Royal Palm Beach, FL) $3,842
Event #2 is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (30) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8. Action is scheduled to play through Level 16, or the 10% mark (of the final field entry number), whichever happens to be reached first. Those players that are successful in bagging chips at the end of either Flight 1A or Flight 1B, will then return Monday (at 12:00pm) for Day 2. Players can choose between Flight 1A (at 11:00am) or Flight 1B (at 6:00pm).
The $90 No Limit Hold'em satellite into Event #2 begins at 3:00pm, and is structured with: 10,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.
Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand. The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
There is an addition to the day's promotions, with the "Twilight Full House" promo beginning at 6:00pm. The first (25) full houses made (after 6:00pm), that are tens full or better, will be awarded up to $100 (dependent on which game is being played). A full list of payouts for each game are posted in the poker room (with the promo's official flyer to be posted here on the blog shortly).
From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
