Saturday, April 6th: Another Full Slate Of Tournaments, With The Return Of $500 High Hands Every (20) Minutes (6:00PM-10:00PM)

ICYMI: Friday's tournament action began in the late afternoon, with the ever-popular $75 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($1,000 GTD).  As has been the case for so many of these Friday afternoon tournaments, the posted guarantee was surpassed early in the registration period.  The field would close with a total of (32) entries, and an official prize pool of $1,600,  meaning three spots were scheduled to talk away with $500 prizes (and one spot to get $100).  Those numbers were eventually altered, as players agreed to a four-way deal, once the money bubble burst:
  1. Glen Canelstein (Coconut Creek, FL) $400
  2. Leonard Feldman (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $400
  3. David Schnegelberger (Boca Raton, FL) $400
  4. David Becerra (Miami, FL) $400
The evening tournament ($80 No Limit Hold'em $3,000 GTD) saw a very strong showing, which ended up crushing the guarantee.  Registration would close with (66) total entries, and after the add-ons were included into the official number, the prize pool would close at $4,850.  Nine players were scheduled to reach the money, with action eventually playing down to an outright winner.  Official results of the tournament are listed below:
  1. Hatzikontos Pantelis (Boca Raton, FL) $1,698
  2. Eric Mutschler (Tarpon Springs, FL) $970
  3. Steve Zukowski (Coral Springs, FL) $594
  4. Blaine McRae (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $424
  5. Ernesto Azucena (Wellington, FL) $327
  6. Herschel Williams (Lighthouse Point, FL) $255
  7. Phillip Dunleavey (Delray Beach, FL) $218
  8. Robert Schafer (Sunrise, FL) $194
  9. Andrew Woronka (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $170
Tournaments: Saturday's recurring tournament schedule begins at 11:00am, with a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Seniors 50+" event, which boasts a $1,500 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament has a very player-friendly structure, with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and (25) minute levels.  Registration for the tournament is open through Level 8, and the ten minute break that follows.

The 6:00pm event is open to players of all ages, and has quickly become a favorite of the players.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em "Chip Buster" has a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool, which is sure to be surpassed, by the time registration closes.  The tournament is structured with 50,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has registration that is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

There is a "special" promotion that starts this evening, that will also run every Friday and Saturday in April (from 6:00pm-10:00pm).  During the listed four-hour time period, high hands will be worth $500, and will be awarded every (20) minutes.  In order for the qualifying high hand to be awarded the $500 prize, the hand must be made using both hole cards.  Qualifying high hands that are made with one-card, will be awarded a $250 prize.

From 12:00am-9:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
