Sunday, April 28th: Another Week Of Poker Action Wrapping Up, As We Look Forward Busy Month Of May

ICYMI: Saturday's tournament slate began at 11:00am, with a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Seniors" event, which ran without a posted guarantee.  Registration would be open for eight levels, and once the break after Level 8 concluded, the tournament clock showed (14) total entries (and an official prize pool of $1,358).  Two players were scheduled to walk away with money, and while we normally see chops in this particular event, the action played down to an outright winner.  Norman Boothe bested Steven Dietz during heads-up play, with the official results listed below:
  1. Norman Boothe (Oakland Park, FL) $883
  2. Steven Dietz (Delray Beach, FL) $475
The evening time slot (6:00pm) hosted the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Chip Buster," which boasted a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool.  That number would be eclipsed by almost $1,000, as the field closed with (35) total entries.  The $3,395 prize pool was scheduled to be spread across four pay-spots, but players ended up agreeing to a six-way deal (short of the official money).  Results from the tournament are listed below:
  1. David Maddox (Boynton Beach, FL) $812
  2. Anthony Vulpis (Pompano Beach, FL) $627
  3. Susan Krowitz (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $594
  4. Rytis Griharavicius (Lithuania) $531
  5. Bruce Warren (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $504
  6. Barry Sisselman (Deerfield Beach, FL) $327
Tournaments: The first of Sunday's two tournaments begins at 11:00am, and is an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, with a $2,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has registration that is open through Level 8.  At the end of registration, players have the option to take an add, choosing between a single ($20) or double ($40).

The evening time slot (5:00pm) sees the return of the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" ($2,000 GTD), which was a Sunday staple for a very long time.  The tournament is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (15) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 10.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
