The field would close with (16) entries, and an official prize pool of $1,600 (bounties not included). There would be no dealmaking, as action played down to an outright winner, with Matthew Axelrod besting his tough opponent (Melanie Hochman), taking down the evening tournament in back-to-back fashion. Official results from the tournament are listed below:
- Matthew Axelrod (Boynton Beach, FL) $1,040
- Melanie Hochman (Boynton Beach, FL) $560
Tournaments: Monday's tournament schedule starts with a little twist, as the $130 Omaha 8B Hi/Lo ($2,500 GTD) event finds itself in the afternoon time slot (after running Tuesday afternoon for more than a year). The buy-in has decreased, while the guarantee increases, making it a great little formula for the players. The structure sees a small change as well, as the starting stacks shift to 12,000 units, with levels that last (20) minutes in length.
At 3:00pm, there is a $30 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into this week's $100 No Limit Hold'em "Bankroll Builder" ($30,000 GTD). The satellite is structured with 10,000 units, (15) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.
The evening time slot (6:00pm) hosts an $80 No Limit Hold'em tournament, which has a $1,500 guarantee. The event is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8. Prior to the player's first hand, they have the option to get an add-on for $10.
Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand. The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
There are also two "new" promotional additions to speak of. There is a "Big Stack Bonus," whereas any player to has a winning high hand (and has the largest stack at the table (at the time the high hand is made), they will earn double their winnings (up to $800)!!! This promotional is only eligible is NO LIMIT HOLD'EM.
Also, in all eligible jackpot games, if you win back-to-back high hands, you will double your winnings (up to $800).
There is an addition to the day's promotions, with the "Twilight Full House" promo beginning at 6:00pm. The promotion sees (30) total prize awarded, with the breakdown as such: the first (15) full houses (that are tens full or better) will be awarded $50, while the first (15) quads or better will be awarded $150. In order for hands to qualify for the promotional prize, they must be made using both hole cards (in Omaha, players must flop the qualifying high hand to be eligible).
