Friday, July 26th: Add Another One For Ian O'Hara, And Get Ready For The Main Event Of The 2019 Florida State Poker Championships

ICYMI: Ian O'Hara (Boca Raton, FL) is a well-known poker pro, who came into yesterday with there Isle Casino Pompano Park major titles, and sat in second on the all-time money list for the room.  Two of those statistics changed on Thursday, after O'Hara took down Event #4 of the Florida State Poker Championships.  The $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Turbo "Purple Chip Bounty" began at 1:00pm, and after twelve levels of open registration, saw a field that closed with (16) entries (and an official prize pool of ($13,760).  Only two players were scheduled to earn payouts in the event, with the action moving pretty swiftly, over the course of the afternoon/early evening.  Once the money bubble burst, O'Hara found himself heads-up with Joseph Smith, eventually besting his opponent for the title.  With the almost $9,000 score, Ian passes Joseph Couden on the all-time money list, earning himself a lead of just about $3,000, as the players head into this weekend's $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Main Event ($300,000 GTD).  Official results from Event #4 are listed below:
  1. Ian O'Hara (Boca Raton, FL) $8,944
  2. Joseph Smith (Boca Raton, FL) $4,816
Tournaments: Today's schedule, along with most of the weekend, is dedicated to Event #5 of the Florida State Poker Championships ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em Main Event $300,000 GTD).  Action begins at 10:00am, with a $340 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into the FSPC Main Event, which guarantees (1) seat.  The satellite is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

At 1:00am, we see the first starting day of Event #5 ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em FSPC Main Event) get underway.  The Main Event of the series is structured with 40,000 unit starting stacks, (50) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 12 (with players having the ability to buy-in until the first hand is dealt on Day 2 (Monday).

Promotions: Things begin with the "Full House Promo," which opens the doors seven day a week!!!  The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $50 prize.  Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $50.  In order to be eligible, the full house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.

The "standard" high hands will be awarding $150 every (20) minutes (from 9:00am-6:00pm).  Every jackpot game is eligible for the same amount, with the full $150 being rewarded, regardless of one or two cards being used to make the high hand.  For those players in tournaments, two-card high hands are worth $100, with one-card high hands walking away with $50.

From 6:00pm-12:00am, the high hands will still be awarded every (20) minutes, but the winning amount goes up to $400 (for high hands using both cards).  Those winning high hands that are made using one card (during that time period), will be awarded $200.
